I grew up as poor as you can in America to a single mom in a wheel chair with 5 kids in the poorest town in the state, all 5 of us are at least in the upper middle class now. Being born in the west in a poor family you still have extremely good opportunities better than the vast majority of people in the world. Most nations have no welfare or pensions only their family and friends. Its also the poorest in the west who are the fattest people in human history you by definition cant be starving and very overweight. Go find a place where you can learn a productive skill and get to work. What I found in my poor town was that almost everybody thought they were a victim and it was pointless to try to get ahead so they just watched TV and drank and they of course they never got ahead. But thats on them not the system, you have to produce more value for others than you consume thats how you get ahead.

One word for this documentary: bleak. If this interview were to take place today, everything would still be the same.
