Hi, thanks for the informative video. I have some questions about the 5 Series and the Security Series. I'm not at all tech-savvy. As an Apple user mainly (laptop and Iphone), if I get the Security Key NFC, I should go for the one with USB-C right? As USB-C should fit the thunderbolt port? Does the YubiKey 5Ci not come with NFC? Why is it the most expensive in the 5 series but with fewer functions? I assume that the lightning connector is helpful to plug into the iphone, but why would I need to plug it in when I can get the cheaper 5C NFC version? I'm kinda confused. Thanks!

This "Cloaked" software may be the answer to my problem here. A friend of mine followed your advice and purchased a Yubikey to secure her Google account. She created a google number and only uses it for financial institutions. She then created a new email address only to be used for her financial accounts. The problem is if my friend was sim swapped the google number would forward to the phone the fraudster took over and they could reset the bank passwords. If she doesn't have the google number forwarded to her regular number, she may not receive timely texts from her bank. Other than using Efani, is there any way to protect against this? Thanks for the video. I have to say my first experience with Yubikey is a disappointment. I purchased 2 keys to learn how to secure accounts. I logged into a financial account and registered 2 keys, for use on my desktop. The Windows Security software required a new PIN for each key, which I did (I had no idea this was needed). I tested logging in to the financial website using each -- username, password, Yubikey (with the Windows password, plus touching it).....but all of that could be over-ridden with a secure code OTP from the website! So I'm not sure how Yubikey is better if the financial website allows a 2FA phone code, which is what I had before getting the Yubikey!! Am I missing something here? Thanks.

Disabled sync on the cloud and exported 2FA codes to a QRCode image and printed it out. If I need to set up a new phone just need to scan this qr code. All offline, nothing on the cloud.

2FA does not work fine with a phone due to evilginx attacks and that is why you need a Yubikey.

Or maybe just go back to using a phone as only a phone?

In reality, instead of a USB Data Blocker, you can simply use a data-less cable. They are as cheap as possible, and they definitely do not have any technical ability to transmit information (which cannot be said about the presented device, if you have not disassembled your specific one (yes, paranoia)). In addition, it will be another spare cable, which is always better to have than to need and not have.

It appears that 1Password allows the setup a 2FA such as Yubikey however there is no way to force a 2FA on every login, only the first time to authenticate a new machine. So if someone steals your user-generated password and walks off with your laptop, every one of your passwords and those accounts are gone. Dealbreaker for me!!!

Can you make a video about incogni and other "data broker removal" services? I started using it a week ago and noticed a significant uptick in spam emails. Reddit has been telling me these services are actually sending my email to data brokers and asking them to remove me, which i find counter-intuitive.

I'm using Open Camera on Android. It has a setting where you can turn off EXIF-data.

I have Adobe bridge (I believe this is free). I can delete the information if I want to delete anything. If I upload anything, I process the images first to remove the data. Proton syncs pictures from a folder now.

Chrome browser has the worst development leadership of any software, ever! You never know what standard options will be there and which will not from build to build. Some options are gone for a year then reappear only to be removed months down the line. Therefore you cannot count on a consistent experience or operation from chromes development leadership team. Unfortunately, it is best to change to a different browser that has a stable development history.

I've been using proton suite of apps for couple of years now. As of several months ago, Proton Drive now automatically uploads the pictures on android. You can even select which folders you want to backup like downloads, screenshots, and messages.
