I play golf but don’t really watch. Very interesting. What I’m seeing is the dynamic between golfer and caddie is a lot like pitcher and catcher. The catcher calls the pitch and the pitcher executes.

Woah…. Im long time looper at a private club and have a few regulars with whom I’m very familiar with. This takes serious confidence and familiarity with your player to be able to make him back off like that, explain, and then hope the player has enough trust and confidence to start over again. In 43 years, I’ve never stopped a guy mid swing, (I’ve definitely stopped them before addressing the ball if conditions suddenly change) but I do stand my ground if we discuss the club, wind, etc. thankfully my regulars are all great people who know me and trust my knowledge of the course. PS: the phrase ‘you were right’ is something I hear often.

I thought that if you were lined up to take your shot and you stop yourself and move away, there was a stroke penalty. Or is that just while putting in the green? I swear this was a rule.

Don’t know how long they’ve been paired together but that was just professionalism personified on both guys’ parts. Caddie interrupting player mid swing because he’s doing his job albeit late 😂 … but golfer did what he hired the guy for and that’s trusting his judgement and going with the change of clubs. Awesome 👏🏽😎🤙🏽
