Hallo! Can I use the Carbon paste for my bb86 Press fit that make a terrible noise in the Carbon shell? Thank you
@ridesofjapan
@ridesofjapan 2 дні тому
I would avoid that, the small particles will probably make the noise worse as it moves under torque. Retaining compound might be a better solution.

The butyl over the lezyne pump is absolutely genius, mine was always getting dirty after a few weeks of riding, with some grit/sand making its way there and making pumping not as smooth and had to clean the whole thing often. I'm definitely adopting this trick, thank you!

5:15 - what for "all the way up to the shifter"? Enough is to secure in 2-3 places. And it is smarter to plug the junction box BEFORE wrapping electrical tape

I recently redid my scratched up levers too, but I painted it in gloss black with metal flackes which looks superb in my opinion. You should definitley apply clear coat to the sanded levers as the epoxy that hold together the carbon fibers degrades very fast due to UV light.

Not "hard" to mount - impossible! My bike mechanic needed three quarters of an hour to get it on the clincher. I'll never buy these tyres again.

You save the day again, thank you. Was looking for the ultimate answer to "what do i put on a PF BB before install?", saw your Wako thing, went down a quick rabbit hole, came out the other end with Liquid Moly 3312, a German equivalent to your thing here, apparently (as per people on weight weenies). It cost me 10 eur (I'm in Europe), let's see if that works. Thanks!

Glad I found this at 187cm and 65kg I have similar problems, I’ve found Castelli good for very slim fit on the bibs even getting away with XL despite what the size guide says. however the shoulder straps still are a little short and mess with my posture. Annoyingly a general rule of thumb for clothing has been if it’s the most expensive legit pro team tier I’ve found the sizes tend to get taller not fatter but it’s not always the case and gets very expensive. I have the same issue with mountaineering kit too with my long arms

I’ve figured out on a friend’s Trek Checkpoint that it was the internally routed rear brake hose in the BB area. It was creaking straight from the factory and he couldn’t root the cause for months until he asked for my help. So we corrected the issue with foam. Then mine started creaking similarly when I took out 20mm of spacers from the cockpit after a pro fit. I also have a new Gen 6 Madone SLR and I would’ve expected Trek to have placed the necessary foam damper but I suppose they’re trying to save on costs at our expense.

Did this myself last year. My mates alway wonder where I got my tool from, and are surprised when I tell them I made it myself. I had to cut down the bolts that hold the components to the main body and file them flush but it looks good and not easy to tell it was adapted! I use the same patch kit and the Lezyne small tire levers. Finally I have the Muul tire plug that sits in a rubber holster and Velcros to my bar on my MTB so its really fast to pull out and use in the case of a flat, or on my seat tube behind my saddle bag on my road/gravel bike,

Great content and presentation, as usual. Love the presta cap idea. Thanks! I don't drain brakes unless the fluid needs to be changed. I just cut the hoses as long as possible and plug them with a short piece of shishkabob skewer. Then, if I'm lucky, I don't even have to bleed the brakes after putting them back together.

26g Mini Pump for less than 20€? Take a look at the Barbieri Nana made in Italy. It’s reliable but takes a while to pump up a tire. That’s fine for me because I very rarely have flats.

Incidentally, your method of pre-seating the bead goes against most other recommendations, where the advice is to squeeze the tyre in to the channel and blast it out, which I always try despite it seeming counterintuitive. However, pre-seating(ish) works much better for me - particularly when the tyres have had sealant before and are therefore a bit sticky.

will this apply on a small frame that has short chainstays just because it's small?
@ridesofjapan
@ridesofjapan Місяць тому
You should be able to find the chain length specified on your bikes geometry chart. Chain stay length don’t always scale with frame size. Groupset manufacturers has recommended minimum length, so you don’t see mass produced frames with ultra short chainstays these days.
