In the book that Bladerunner is based on, the treatment of "androids" makes a lot more sense. They're all inherently psychopathic due to their lack of a formative childhood. The have no capacity to feel empathy. The false memories that are implanted in Rachel are an attempt to correct that problem and make them more human.

Writers and film makers have always been doing a great job, distorting and ridiculing unwanted truth in the favour of worldly powers. So, when ist comes to dragons, you will never find the truth digging down mainstream sources of knowledge. The contradictions are on purpose. From personal experience (at least with the celtic dragons) I can ashure you that dragons once lived on earth as the keepers of divine order. And, yes, the leggedness is the real differentiator for dragons and wyverns, apart from their behaviour of course. Now, ask yourselfs, why are dragons reemerging again in media recently? Your experience really resonated with me. I was never particularly obsessed with dragons but I did seek out animals instead of people because they didn’t understand me. Snakes have been one of my biggest interests for years and part of it is how misunderstood they are- they’re beautiful and interesting animals with a negative image. Additionally that intense need for categorization and clear definitions is a huge thing for me even today. Just getting a label to describe my experiences- for me, Autistic- was really helpful. But there’s definitely something to be said about accepting the gray area and not using labels.

I'd like to point out there is another sci-fi universe where a faction with a traditionally "evil" visual language (Red and Black, lots of spikey things, legs, and whatnot) are the actual good guys of the setting compared to everyone else. The Cybrans from Supreme Commander, the UEF have a more traditionally "good" visual language (Clean and Blocky things with blue, yellow, and white for common colors) but want to wipe out the Aeon and enslave the Cybrans, and the Aeon have a more "alien" coded visual language (clean rounded units, lots of hover tech and religious themes in unit names. Also a literal flying saucer with a death beam) and are partaking in a religious war to "enlighten" the galaxy... And genocide the Symbionts. The Cybrans meanwhile are waging a war for freedom and independence from the UEF and want to hijack the UEF's ultimate weapon to destroy the gateway network (The main means of FTL travel and communication) and upload a virus to free all the currently enslaved Symbionts, they are straight up the actual GOOD GUY faction in that setting around the time of the Infinite War.
