It looks a good idea, but you showed the pitfall....an enclosed cooking space for a small stove always seems preferable....but at least the cake cooked with a bit of help and the Spam! You are always great at showing the good and not so good! Love your vids! Always interesting! 😊

Good on you for reviewing the XL even though the stingys didn't sponsor it for you. Happy you finally got it, I love your videos as well. Every time you get your axe out it makes me want to go buy one and start chopping wood, lol. I live in a very wooded area in South Carolina, USA. Love your reviews keep up the excellent work. 👍❤️

It is a very very good video, but I find it a little biased with the weights, The Bushbox XL grill plate, in titanium, it weighs only 46gr. The bushbox XL titanium case weights 145g... I think it would have been fairer to put a weight comparison with the same accessories, also more interesting for people who watched the video.

Thanks Andy great video it was good to see them side by side I was thinking I will only need the large but it makes perfect sense to have the space to move the fire and adjust temperature by moving coals underneath. And what else am I going to spend a hundred quid on!! Great work thanks

I have the up2 mini. It is perfect for solo camping tent. Its the best tent you could possibly ever own. If there was ever a "one and done" tent, it would be this one. Almost indestructible. It will litterly last longer than me. I've tested it in 40mph wind gusts and never moved an inch and never leaked with heavy rain. Extremely well made but very heavy. Summer months just run a few battery fans and all windows open and youre all set, but it truly shines in the winter and fall months. Ill never own another tent. Well worth the expensive pricetag.

Brilliant channel pal❤ have a question, on one of your vids u used magnesium to start a fire, u added some liquid to it and it lit itself what was it pls if that makes sense lol

I really enjoy your channels. They remind me of the farm my dad bought in upstate Pennsylvania. There were 3 different kinds of woodlands. That was over sixty years ago. we didn't build fires, but there were plenty of lean-tos and small cabins throughout our property. We had a lookout to see over three states. It was a wonderful place to be.

Thank you for sharing. I feel the stand is s little redundant, especially given that it brings the weight up to the steel version which is much cheaper. When i buy one i will improvise a tray.

when lighting with a tail, you should know that there should be no dry leaves!!! very unwise :/

FYI, the original Dutch Oven did not have feet/legs. American Colonists created the improvement of adding legs. A useless tidbit of knowledge.

Hi Andy, that's a pretty good kit, unlike most it had a cook pot, apart from some spoilage from the broth most things were still usable. Thanks this has been very interesting, Atb mate, Stuart Uk.

It's a so called "rocket stove" design with its insulated sides and side loading. Designed for burning small bits of wood (like twigs and grasses) at extra high temperatures which causes the exhaust gasses to form a secondary combustion. You are overloading it with way too much fuel like it is a standard wood stove. It's actually much more efficient than a regular wood stove for cooking if you're using it properly. The smoke is operator error on your end.

You encountered the same problem as I when unfolding the gas hose. Realised later that first it is better to unfold the legs outwards before extending them, then the hose will be released without damage to the stainless steel weaving on it.
