Thanks for sharing the awesome project! However do note not only the esp32 is drawing power when in sleep, there's static current from the LDO, standby power from the DHT and BMP sensors and the USB serial chip, and even the power from your lipo protection pcb. And they are way larger than 15 uA as most of them are not designed for such low power consumption at beginning. So frankly it won't last for months as you estimated.

Try machine.freq(280000000) on pico and test again.

Buonasera, bellissimo progetto, ottima la spiegazione, è possibile utilizzare una esp8266 invece della esp32?

I hate libraries and it was much faster to write a bit of code in MMBasic to begin with. I can focus on the tasks, hardware and the modules for things. I bought some ESP32 stuff anyway and it's the same SPI, I2C, Serial, Display and whatnot protocols with more wireless functionality on the ESP32 side. Low power and no heat is a major factor sometimes. They can easily communicate together, so just do you.

Wow, less than 3× advantage to Arduino! Given how much I hate C & love Python, I think I know what I'll be mostly using from now on :-)

Nice tutorial. Thanks. Issue with simple test code. Was getting attribute error ".show(x) removed. Use.root_group = x". Apparently 'show' no longer used. Solved by editing line 25 to ... display.root_group = splash

Excellent video ! Did you consider to rerun the test with an RPi Pico W ? I'm not sure if the wireless option has an impact on the result though. Furthermore: Would it make sense to try to make use of the 2nd core by introducing threads (AFAIK the 2nd core is not used in Python code by default) ?

I guess the real question is why you would be running complex computations on a microcontroller 😂

You just told me how to use the MAX7219 (or 7221) to drive a 8x8 led matrix, but not how to drive a led matrix, so the title of your video is misleading and should be reversed, maybe even clarifying you don't explain how to drive an 8x8 led matrix.

Thank you for helping me setup remote access. Now I can run 3 Raspberry Pi's headless. One of the Raspberry Pi's is running USB over IP to run a camera and laser engraver in the garage and now I can shut it down remotely after my job's are completed.

if someone has the problem where your whole screen does not get filled heres the solution. change the width and height in the Adafruit_ILI9341.h file located in Arduino\libraries\Adafruit_ILI9341. in mine i swapped the width and height values to the opposite and everything worked perfect.

Efharisto for this video. Did you ever try the Sh1106 driver for 1.3" oled displays? I can get this .96" to work like in your video. But I can only get the 1.3" to work so far on my raspberry pi using the luma.oled library. I'd appreciate your insight if you've had any luck. My Pico is running Circuit Python.

Trying for the last week to get the Windows Remote Desktop (win10) to work with the Raspberry pi4. At one time all worked, but did not recall what version or RPI i had installed. Tried, Bookworm, NO LUCK! then decided to go back in time, to Bullseye, still no luck, then today 2024-03-14, installed Buster, full install. Did exactly what you stated in the video. I'm able to get the desktop, into the RDC, with the image and Icon from the RPI4, but the mouse will not allow or should I say, execute any of the icons! I'm at a total loss! Any ideas? Regards Dale
