Was the weasel white or brown?
@amfulloffun76Рік тому
It was brown 😊
@deannelson9565Рік тому
@@amfulloffun76 since you said it was diving in and out of the water I kind of figured that would be the answer so the correct answer to the animal identification is that's not a weasel that's a mink.
@amfulloffun76Рік тому
@@deannelson9565 ah, thank you so much!!!
@deannelson9565Рік тому
@@amfulloffun76 yeah during the winter weasels are pure white with a black tip on their tail they're also extremely small very skinny and are not overly affectionate to water. Whereas mink are almost exclusively found around water cuz they're basically semi-aquatic ....they're more or less just small otters with a really bad attitude and a sweet tooth for muskrats crayfish and pretty much anything else they can catch!

@@deannelson9565 that's so kind of you to take the time to explain. I really appreciate it!

April: I just commented on your river ice jam video. I’m guessing your age and if you were at Saranac jhs in 1986, I may have been your health student teacher! Anyway: have similar breast cancer history in 2002. Watching this 5 years later, I hope all is well with you.

Ou you are a happy girl, if you are sitting in your living room and can see the river so direct...are you not afraid of big water? Flash flood of so?
@amfulloffun763 роки тому
No, we don't have to worry about flooding of our house. Because it's lower on the opposite side of the river it would flood the entire forest over there first. And we're about 50 feet up the hillside. I definitely love living right on the river!

High five on the good eye...Dad always said listen and watch or smell and nature (Planet) will show you amazing things but some of the best are only experienced by being aware. I am 63 now and still do. You video had all the things needed to help someone that's never seen a ice flow. Peace

Amazing. This obviously happens every year? Can you walk across when its at its most frozen?
@amfulloffun763 роки тому
One would think it happens every year but this is my 5th winter living on the river and that was the only year it froze so much. Right now (1/21/21) there is absolutely no ice. So it was a rare sight I guess. As far as walking across, no. Even with all that ice as in the video, it wasn't frozen on the farthest side. The water is slightly deeper over there and the current is swifter so it didn't freeze.
@jonesy122213 роки тому
Very interesting. Thank you for replying.

@amfulloffun763 роки тому
I'm sorry my video didn't meet your standards. I'm not a professional videographer. Myself and plenty of other internet viewers find these kinds of things fascinating. You know...it takes less time out of your day to simply scroll on and be nice. Have the day you deserve.
@salr3623 роки тому
What a spectacular view. Are there fish in that river. If so, do you have a spare room? 😉
@amfulloffun763 роки тому
There are indeed fish in the river, different parts have different varieties. There are rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, landlocked salmon, and steelhead. There's not much directly behind the house though because it's quite shallow. Good fishing is nearby though. And yes, we have a spare room ;-)

@amfulloffun763 роки тому
Ya, it does. This last spring the river was barely frozen so it wouldn't have been nearly as dramatic as this. In the 4 winters I've lived on the river this video is the only year I've actually seen this.
