Hi, for thingspeak free version the MQTT msgs are still limited to 15 secs? Regards!
MAKERDEMY
MAKERDEMY 2 дні тому
Hi Felipe, “Users of the free option will be limited to sending no more than 3 million messages each year to the ThingSpeak service. Users of the free license will also be limited to 4 channels. For users of the free option, the message update interval limit remains limited at 15 seconds.” - This is a part of the ThingSpeak Licensing Agreement. So the answer is yes. It still has this limit. But you can always pay for other licensing options. Some of them include reasonable rates. Please check the plans out here: thingspeak.com/prices

@MAKERDEMY the problem is, first i've success to run a program..then i upload another program..after that i want to switch back to first program which is succesfully run..but it doesnt work, it always resetting (i know this from monitor) i am using arduinodroid sir..
MAKERDEMY
MAKERDEMY 2 дні тому
Hi Sakha Ken That is how a normal upload is supposed to end. The code is installed, then verified, then the ESP reboots itself, which makes the code run. Also, just make sure that the baud rate is correct in the Serial Monitor. If your sketch is not working still, then in this case it means that there are some logical errors in your code. We hope this was helpful. Thank You.

Hi Edgar, We are really glad that you were able to solve the issue with our help. Yes, you can view the payload using a tool called Wireshark. But for this to work, you need to route the packets through the computer that runs the Wireshark. Usually, we have to buy a sniffer module to do this. But an easy way to do this is to enable Hotspot on your laptop, then let the Pi connect to this Hotspot and ensure this Hotspot has access to the internet. While the project runs, open Wireshark, listen to the correct IP address and filter out only MQTT packets. Edgar, this is a vast topic to cover. In fact, we have a dedicated Masterclass course on MQTT, and in that, we teach the intricacies of MQTT using this packet analysis tool. You may want to check that out here. utm.io/uc9y4 We hope this was helpful. Thank You.

MAKERDEMY
MAKERDEMY 17 днів тому
Hi Edgar, Can you please share the screenshot of the error, or can you go to the log and see which line of the code is causing this error? This will conclusively prove the cause of the error. If it is due to the certificates, first, please make sure that your Raspberry Pi’s Date and Time is correct for your time zone. Then please type in the following commands in the terminal to update the certificates. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get -y --reinstall ca-certificates Now please share your progress. We hope this was helpful. Thank You.

Hi Sirin, Like any new technology, there is no say how the future of RISC-V will turn out. Having said that, the trends are supporting the adoption of RISC-V, mainly due to avoiding paying license fees to ARM. But With the Apple M1 Processor adopting ARM for the PC, the future of Personal Computer Space looks more likely to be shifted to ARM. But on a side note, many mainstream IoT, and Embedded boards are coming with RISC V Processors, like, for example, the ESP32-C3. Thus, RISC V seems to hold a lot of potential in the embedded and IoT domain, where the devices need to be small, efficient and of low cost. Thus using RISC based processors will eliminate the licensing cost. You may want to read the following articles: www.theregister.com/2020/03/09/risc_v_intel_amd_arm/ www.embeddedcomputing.com/technology/processing/risc-v-too-open-to-succeed hackaday.com/2019/11/12/risc-v-why-the-isa-battles-arent-over-yet/ We hope this was helpful. Hello, I have a question. I've seen this and the video about ZigBee protocol, but I don't understand why a tree network topology like this is called mesh. I'm writing my thesis on this. Hope I'll get answer, thank you!
Peppe Lol
Peppe Lol 17 днів тому
@MAKERDEMY Hello, Last week I made lot of research about this. ESP-MESH is just a tree topology which cannot be (and never be, because it's built atop WiFi that allows only a single upstream connection) a mesh topology. ESP-MESH is just mesh-like because it implies the self organization and self healing. By the way, a real mesh network has multiple "upstream" connections between nodes, for example 2 or more nodes can be connected both with router and inside the same mesh, and if a node fails the mesh just changes the path and the other nodes doesn't need to search for new connections. I hope this clarify any doubts, Lot of students are commissioned to build a mesh Network but they can fall in this, like me, and doing something wrong. If someone is interested to do a real mesh network, you can try ESP BLE MESH, which unfortunately is not full-documented.
MAKERDEMY
MAKERDEMY 17 днів тому
Hi Peppe, You are right. Let me explain. This network topology is a characteristic of ESP Wi-Fi MESH specifically which is well documented in the official documentation of the ESP Wi-Fi MESH Protocol. ESP-MESH is built on top of the infrastructure of Wi-Fi protocol and can be thought of as a networking protocol that combines many individual Wi-Fi networks into a single WLAN. In Wi-Fi, stations are limited to a single connection with an Access Point at any time, whilst an AP can be simultaneously connected to multiple stations (downstream connections). However, ESP-MESH allows nodes to simultaneously act as a station and an AP. Therefore, a node in ESP-MESH can have multiple downstream connections using its softAP interface whilst simultaneously having a single upstream connection using its station interface. This naturally results in a tree network topology with a parent-child hierarchy consisting of multiple layers. Please kindly take a look at these subsections of the official documentation to learn further: docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/esp32/api-guides/mesh.html#tree-topologydocs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/esp32/api-guides/mesh.html#node-types docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/esp32/api-guides/mesh.html#beacon-frames-rssi-thresholding We hope this was helpful. It doesn't blink at all, it simply do nothing. I could boot it 3 times with a lot of effort, installing the OS multiple times and praying a lot. My SD card stopped working, I starting using another, and not the other one isn't working as well. I think my raspberry pi not only isn't working, but it is also damaging my SD cards. The few times the green light worked, the boot was a success, I could play with my raspberry pi for hours and it was working flawlessly, I was very satisfied. But then it wouldn't boot the next day, and I didn't touch the SD card. I'm very disappointed, I had quite a few projects with it, I would learn about Linux in it. It would be my past time for the next two months, I guess. Now I'm afraid of using a third SD card and damage it as well. I have 4 cameras, used SD cards many times for many years and never damage one of them once. This raspberry pi already damage 2 SD cards, in my opinion it is faulty and I will ask for a refund.

Hi Sangeeth, Cayenne do support Raspberry Pi. Cayenne doesn’t generate a python code, instead it connects with your Pi and uses inbuild APIs to implement these projects. What software hardware best uses 8 gigs of ram?
Craig Mullins

MAKERDEMY
MAKERDEMY 2 місяці тому
Hi Craig, Let's look at use cases where 8 GB ram variant will be useful, 1. Desktop Replacement - With 8 GB RAM you don't have to worry about opening multiple web pages at the same time 2. As the 8GB variant supports 64 bit OS, productivity apps will be much smoother 3. You might also want to look at RAM disk implementation. Essentially this dedicates a part of the RAM to permanently store (Constantly refreshed) an application or data, thereby making it have super-fast load time. If you already have a Raspberry Pi 2 GB or 4 GB model, you will not need the 8 GB variant unless your application specifically needs more memory or can only work on the 64 bit OS. There is no specific app that you can download to make use of 8 GB RAM. It just makes the current apps snappier and makes them handle more real time data, like multitasking. We hope this was helpful. Thanks

MAKERDEMY 2 місяці тому
Hi Dirk Abel. We researched in-depth and found that you are correct. To skip the licensing from Bosch and use the CAN name specifically, they have implemented the same feature under a different name. This has created an initial confusion in the community as their initial online docs, the initial block diagram that they released, didn’t have any details about the TWAI. You can see that a copy of the initial block diagram with no mention of CAN or TWAI in both of the well-known publications. 1. maker.pro/esp8266/tutorial/a-comparison-of-the-new-esp32-s2-to-the-esp32 2. blog.adafruit.com/2019/09/02/esp32-s2-a-low-power-2-4-ghz-wi-fi-system-on-chip-datasheet-and-more-espressifsystem-esp32-esp32s2-esp32-s2/ Now, if you go and check the updated online datasheet on page 3, you can see they have added TWAI and also details regarding this datasheet after they released the incomplete details initially. www.espressif.com/sites/default/files/documentation/esp32-s2_datasheet_en.pdf You can see the community confusion by reading the issue here too. github.com/espressif/esp-idf/issues/5580 We thank you for pointing this out. MAKERDEMY
MAKERDEMY 3 місяці тому
Hi Amir, First and foremost, make sure that you are typing in the correct IP address that is displayed in the PuTTY Terminal, after we type the vncserver command. In some cases, due to running the vncserver command multiple times in the same session, the Pi may create multiple virtual desktops and assign a number to it. So, make sure that you type the full IP address along with the screen number in the VNC Viewer. For example, when you enter the vncserver command, the terminal may return 192.168.42.121:1. Don’t forget to input the “:1” at the end of the IP Address. If still you are facing an issue, please write back to us. The problem may be something much deeper in that case. We hope this was helpful. Thank You.

What are the specs on the 2 cameras you mentioned? Whats the highest streaming resolution these boards support?

MAKERDEMY 4 місяці тому
Hi Craig. That are good questions. The OV7670 is a low-cost image sensor + DSP combo that can operate at a maximum of 30 fps and 640 x 480 resolutions, equivalent to 0.3 Megapixels. The captured image can be pre-processed by the DSP before sending it out. The OV5640 on the other hand is a 5 Megapixel image sensor, that supports resolutions up to 2592x1944. The OV5640 offers high performance 5-megapixel photography and 720p HD video at 60 frames per second and 1080p HD video at 30 fps with complete user control over formatting and output data transfer. Currently, with the existing library optimization you will get below 15 FPS for any resolutions above 800x600, and on top of that if you use facial detection and recognition it tanks further. Hi Raize Ahamed, Wi-Fi 6 based routers and devices are already available on Amazon. The only catch is that they are very expensive as of now, and to take true advantage of the Wi-Fi 6 capabilities, all of the devices in your home should be Wi-Fi 6 capable also. It is not a pre-requisite, but many features that make Wi-Fi 6 great can only be accessed if the whole ecosystem around it is also Wi-Fi 6 supported. As of now, Wi-Fi 6 routers will support Wi-Fi 5 devices just fine, though the latter will run at their rated 802.11ac speeds. Similarly, Wi-Fi 6 devices can still talk to a Wi-Fi 5 router, though again, their throughput will be constrained, and most of the advanced features mentioned above will be disabled until they can find supporting devices. Thus I would suggest you wait for some time and let Wi-Fi 6 become more popular and much cheaper. We hope this was helpful. Thank You.

What about 6e? Are they going to improve 2.4 gig?
MAKERDEMY
MAKERDEMY 4 місяці тому
Hi Craig, Just like Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 operates on two frequencies - 2.4GHz and 5GHz. However, in January of 2020, the Wi-Fi Alliance announced that Wi-Fi 6 devices that can operate on the third spectrum, which is 6 GHz, will be called Wi-Fi 6E devices to distinguish them from those that can only operate on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The reason why Wi-Fi 6E was released was to avoid interference. With Wi-Fi 6 operating on the same frequency as older Wi-Fi standards such as Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 5, there is bound to be interference. However, with support for 6GHz, which has wider channel sizes, there will be less interference and faster speeds. As this is working in a different frequency, there won't be any improvements on the 2.4 GHz Spectrum. We hope this was helpful. Thank You.

Hi Nathan. We have gone through the video and checked whether the timer had hidden any commands at any point in time. We have found none. All of the commands that are typed in the terminal are viewable. In some places, we have also zoomed in and marked with red boxes. We had made sure the timer does not hide the tutorial's key elements that help in achieving the goal. Although some parts of the terminal are inevitably hidden at some points in time, they are not any process-breaking issue. Our newer LTI5M videos made sure this doesn't happen even for such cases. Thank You.

Why do I see the arduino default partition has only one ota section?

Hi Rowifi. If you are referring to why the partition scheme for your ESP32 board in Arduino IDE is showing only 1 OTA Partition, it is because the partition schemes are set by the specific manufactures of the Development Board. For example, SparkFun ESP32 boards may have totally different skews of partition schemes as opposed to the ESP32 WROOM Dev Boards. This is because different manufacturers source different types of flash memory chips from different vendors and design the partition schemes that are optimum for them. However, you can design your own partition schemes if you wish. We hope this was helpful. Thank You.
