they should make it so that you get less wood since you run out of gold a certain point so that point where you run out should be taken as average and remove any remaining wood from the starting wood.

So. As a filthy casual who knows NOTHING about competative WCII. IS Orc just objectively better than Human? Seems to me like Ogre Mages are just..... insane when it comes to nearly every other aspect of the game. I can only think that maybe archers are alittle better than axers, and blizzard might have a slight edge over D&D (Though they seem so similar I have no idea). But even then. With enough ogres, you can just push past anything with your immense beef and do tons of damage with BL. It seems even the air units don't counter them as they can just tank the damage and still just tear through stuff, at least I've seen you do that once or twice.
