I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

As a bama fan, Texas played outstanding. I HATE seeing injuries and the fact Texas still put themselves in a position to win the game showed just how well prepared they really were. Tremendous effort. I was very impressed with the gameplan and you could tell bama was rattled for most of the game. Texas you guys will be a great addition to the SEC. You guys outplayed us 99% of the game. I have nothing but the upmost respect for Texas and their program. I hope everyone gets healthy. Good luck the rest of the season!

I applaud Saban for telling his players to "stop that shit" (regarding bama players giving the horns down) as he jogged out to shake Sark's hand right after the game. Sark has Texas back in the fold. Texas and Oklahoma need to be playing these auburn, bama, Florida, ole miss, Ohio state, Michigan, etc games during the season. Screw playing conference USA schools like UTEP and UTSA, playing these sec schools and big 10 will be better in the long run.

I was at work and saw everybody heading to the stadium. It was a confident atmosphere. Lots of Bama fans. They travel well. Alabama fans seemed very nervous. Nice people though but man what a game. Nothing but respect for this Tide team. We had chances. I don't know what the safety call back was. Might of been the turning point. Either way nobody can say anything bad about this young Texas squad. We played our tails off. We just didn't win. That's all. We always play well against top dogs. No matter who it is. That's why I wasn't buying into comments about Alabama 52-10. It's a fight till the end when you come to Austin. Congrats Tide. Wish you guys the best the rest of the season and we'll see you guys again in the SEC. HOOK'EM!

All good, except that missed 20-yard field goal in the beginning. That's 3 points down the drain that otherwise would've made the difference. Great game though; very impressed by Texas' defense.

You need to talk to the refs on that. Even the commentators called the face mask...clearly a facemask ..wasn't called so UT took a field goal.....and the holding call not called.....

@@melvynobrien6193 the penalty was literally overturned. Calm down. And it wasn't a safety because, as you stated above, he wasn't down. He was throwing the ball to #2, 3 yards away from him. It happened to hit a defender in the helmet. The refs never called it a safety on the field either.

@David Cole. This must be your first time to see this sport. It’s called tackle football, it’s where players are intentionally trying to tackle another player and injuries are likely to happen. Injuries cost Bama the championship game last year. You don’t hear us complaining about it.

Not really. When Texas comes to Bryant Denny they will get smoked. This group of players hasn't played well on the road the past 2 seasons. Texas was just another game in that trend. Go look at their road games last year.

Yeah Bob we didn’t look ready for some of the looks Texas was bringing but was able to squeak out the win and that’s all that matters. Having 1-2 sloppy games early in the season is fine, as long as they continue to grow as a team and individually understand their roles and jobs. They’ll be blowing out teams as usual. In other news, how about Marshall bringing the heat at Notre Dame. I’m a true Stanford fan, and I’ve got a friend who’s a diehard Notre Dame fan, and so I always love seeing Notre Dame get drowned by their own mistakes.

The answer is fairly simple. Bill Obrein refuses to change the offense. Period. They had the same problems last year and it hasn’t been adjusted to better utilize personnel. Long season ahead. Bama could very well lose 2-3 games this year

Also if Bert makes the Lil dinky kick. If Watts succeeds on the coner blitz tackle. If PI was called in the end zone earlier in the game. Ewers doesn't get hurt. Heck, if Card doesn't get hobbled. Honest question: On that safety play if the ref called a penalty for targeting on a passer (a live ball foul) how did they not also call intentional grounding or at least a fumble if they considered the play to still be live?? It wasn't a fumble, so they can rule that out, so it would have had to be intentional grounding in the end zone for a safety... right? Edit: basically there were only 3 possible outcomes on that play 1) QB was ruled down in the end zone before the ball came out = safety 2) QB fumbles the ball out of the end zone = safety 3) QB attempts to throw the ball but it doesn't travel past the line of scrimmage, resulting in intentional grounding in the endzone = safety Instead Bama got to keep the ball and punt on 4th down

So on that play you can see the running back number 2 jase mclellan he was in the vacinity therefore making it not an intetional grounding. Bryce young's hand was down and nothing else so the play is alive.

Hella of a game. Texas DC had a great game plan to stop Alabama's rushing and receiving game. The Alabama defense needs to clean up their penalties many of those could've been avoided. Texas offense played one heck of a game dealing with one of the best pass rushes in the nation, but Alabama's defense played better in the second half and had more impactful plays. Props to Bryce Young and Will Reichard for making the plays for their team when they needed to. Prayers out for Ewers and Card hope for a quick recovery. Glad to see Texas is back and in my opinion should've won the game. See the longhorns next year at Bryant Denny. Feel free to leave your opinions kinda new to talking more about college football didn't get to watch the whole game because of work.

If we lose it’s the end of the world. I’m sick of that shit. We just beat Texas at home by 1 point at damn near the last second and you can’t be satisfied with it. Do you remember when Alabama sucked for what seemed like forever? I do. Was as big a fan then as I am now through it all. I don’t think it was, the game moves fast and players can’t read minds. What if Ewers pump fakes and side steps the rusher because the rusher let’s up a bit and throws a td? Playa have to be finished and in football with the amount of weight being thrown around, people can get hurt

Here watching the highlights after being in attendance….what a great atmosphere and such great fans…I’m a competitor but I shook the fans of many longhorns as I was exiting the stadium because they played hard and who wouldn’t want to be at a great game like that.. We gotta do better though Alabama…we’re not always gonna win big but I was really upset at the amount of penalties I seen, just some mental mistakes that you don’t see from Saban lead teams…I got flashbacks of Mike Shula being on the sideline with what I was seeing.

Look I'm not saying that Alabama wouldn't have scored a touchdown at the end of the game, but that safety that Texas didn't get really hurt. Also Texas should have been up at least 8 if they had those two points and didn't miss the half ending field goal. Either way I was hoping the guys would show up and make Alabama work for it and they sure as hell did. Here's to a great rest of the season.

What a game! My heart was thumping at kickoff and even as the game got underway. I didn't know what to expect, just hoping the floodgates wouldn't break till after halftime. If they didn't have that #1 next to Alabama, you would have thought Texas was the better team. Besides the final score, I was so proud of the Texas team. Not gonna play the what-if game cause if UT would have gotten that safety and made the missed field goal, Alabama would have probably scored more also. Happiest loss I can remember, but as time passes on, I do wonder how great it would have been to get that W.

Really enjoyed the number of times Texas's👀 defense got their hands on Bryce Young. No matter how many moments Bryce got tackled though the 4th quarter was his to keep. Guys made plays, receivers got open, and truthfully the field goals made down the wire gave Texas and Alabama chances towards the end. Bijan💪 Robinson and Xavier⭐ Worthy are 2 of college footballs best players. Kind of sad to see Casey Thompson go but Hudson Card not a bad game. Going forward Hudson might become a fan favorite if Longhorns believe in his ability. Great job Crimson Tide, this was not easy.🍿

Not really. Alabama won 2 games on the road last year versus Auburn and Florida by 2 points. This group of players just doesn't perform perfectly on the road but usually finds a way to win.

man this season was frustrating as a bama fan. Obviously we're spoiled, but looking at this game if kobe prentice and isiah bond hade made a couple catches that they should have alabama probably walks away from this game. And of course I have jahmyr gibbs' drop against Tennessee that would've iced the game engrained in my head forever. Penalties and drops turned a 12-0 team into being lucky to be 10-2. Lot's of props to steve sarkisian. I love seeing him be successful. I hope he's the next after nick saban.

Last year before Sark's first season, he proclaimed "all gas, no brakes". Boy, we could have used some gas on those 4th downs when he decided to kick. Got to go for it when you have Bama on the ropes. He was playing with house money in this game and had nothing to lose. Anyway, loved what I saw from my Horns and hope we can show that same intensity the rest of the season.

I'm not a fan of either team, but I watched the entire game. Texas looked like the better team. They were playing with a second string QB (on one leg) and still only lost by one point. A healthy Ewers, and Texas wins by double digits.
