I've moved most of my life and the emotional distress caused by never having a stable home and consistent friends I could visit is something that is going to take years for me to recover from. As of right now I'm still wary to ever interact with someone, but I have a better chance now that my family has our own land to build upon.
@An_Average_IdiotРік тому
I feel that. My own family was the same way. Different year, different place for like a decade straight. Moved somewhere and finally settled down before realizing that a lot of folks never really move. Most of the people in my classes (for several years straight) had never even lived out of the state. Some had been in the same house for over a decade at that point. The usual "born here, raised here, die here" type deal. It was before the internet and home computers became readily available too so no just hitting up someone from two years ago on Facebook. @ballisticbee6001Рік тому
Look don’t bash on me because I know I don’t know this family. But personally, I’d feel bad for the kids growing up going to live in that thing. Since I know personally I’d hate it since my mom lived in a trailer for a while. Yes, it’s fun for a bit “whoo traveling! Etc.” but after a bit, kids need to settle down, and occasionally want to hang out with friends. This isn’t a house to hang out in. Not to mention as the children grow up, they need more space than a small bed and shared (or no) bathroom area. Yes, live your dream if you want, but don’t force children to live like that as well. The second a school peer learns they live in a bus, it’ll turn from “cool!” To other parents telling their children this family is homeless.

@lil_doggo_of_doomРік тому
Also would you say this about Military families that have to move all the time and can't really have a stable living area
@ricedbroccoliРік тому
@@lil_doggo_of_doom No. A military family is not this extreme. You stay in a place for 6 - 12 months. Meaning most of the time you will spend roughly an entire school year in the same district. With an RV lifestyle, you are meant not to be in the same space for longer than a week, literally no friendships could be formed, and you'd be forced into online school, which take it from me, is not a suitable replacement whatsoever. Also you are not allowed space in an RV lifestyle, with a military family you are able to still live in a house and not a literal fucking bus. Not to mention what Military family experiences is for a far more noble cause than some hippies wanting to explore the US Also you said in an above comment that it's "rude" to state that you feel bad for the kid. IM SORRY ARE WE SUPPOSED TO CARE ABOUT CHILD NEGLECTERS EMOTIONS?
@ballisticbee6001Рік тому
@@lil_doggo_of_doom look I have experience living in a trailer, and it’s not a fun time. There is NO space, you can feel the entire place shake anytime anyone moves around (yes even with stabilizing bricks underneath the RV). And usually when you live in an RV, you have to live in trailer parks, since parking spaces will kick you out if you stay there for to long. And trailer parks are really dangerous and sketchy, not a good place for children. I feel like extremely grateful that my parents were separated, because I lived with my dad most of the time in a real house. The only good thing about living with my mom in her trailer was getting to spend time with her. Actually living there was horrible.

Best way to get stable job is ask employers with jobs what they are looking for--what education/training? Then get it--try to match what you already have to a position to start, lessen the new effort. Seriously, successful business types love to give advice, even mentor if you hit it off. Offer to take them to lunch, for ex...make them feel they are not obliged to hire you, you just want advice and admire them. It shows you have nerve, are outgoing, and you build connections. One person may know someone else who is hiring or that you'd hit it off with. Also, it gives you experience with interviews, and broadens your connections. Finally, don't underestimate the value of a flawless resume and cover letter--never duplicate contents from one to other--letter applies job elements to your experience/educ. Resume is just education, jobs, dates, not hobbies, etc. Look up advice and follow it--I went to a consultant and got both jobs I applied for, they fixed me that much. Record yourself in fake interviews to perfect body language, posture, grammar. Good luck!

As a child raised in the military life... I jumped schools sometimes 2 times a year and rarely 3 times a year. I had no childhood home too grow in or friends. Only government housing on base or rentals civilian side. Lived in 38 states and 3 foreign countries by the age of 12. I had no friends and separated from most family. But I was taught so much with culture changes, even in the US. Living in a bus would be kind of similar, but what works for one family may not work for another and vise versa. There are compromises for any choice in life. It wasn't all good being a military B.R.A.T. and it sure wasn't all bad. I saw things as a child most retired adults will never see. I value that. It's easy to judge and make decisions on your learned perspectives and experiences in life, not fair to push those ideas on another family. The parents are present and loving and involve their children. I hardly saw my dad and worried he would never come home when deployed. Time is precious, and once gone, it's gone. Maybe my parents would have been happier if we had traveled without military reasons. Either way, I missed out on a lot of parenting with only one parent home. Whose to say any of us are right or wrong for that matter, as long as the children are hugged, loved, and cared for, who cares about someone's private family business. As long as the kids have parents who show up and love them. It's free to be kind, and it takes a village to raise a child. What an adventure!

I think you should really consider making the move back to a house. The bus is really cool but I think there are a lot of issues that arise from living in one when you're a parent. When you're single or married without kids it's fun and it's affordable (My girlfriend and I have been considering converting a van after we get married next year, at least that's the plan) but when you have children your priority should change to having a good environment for them to grow up in. And you can give them as much space as you can in that bus, and you can be really intentional with making sure your child has good friendships among all of the traveling, but there's only so much that anyone can do. Traveling is going to lead to them losing friendships and struggling to maintain the ones they have as well as lacking social skills. And with as much space as you can give them in that bus they'll still likely not grow up knowing what privacy looks like. and although I'm sure they're not going to grow up loathing you I am quite certain that they won't look back on their childhood quite as fondly as you think they might. In fact for a good while they might enjoy the idea of traveling around and living on a super cool bus with their super cool parents but that all changes when living on a bus suddenly isn't that cool anymore. I hope you can see that people don't speak out because they want to ruin the fun of it but because they care, and that it doesn't take a PHD to see that this might make you and your kid's relationship rocky

Hey yeah, i would suggest in her later years of life, teenage-dom, ect, that you get a more stable environment, and her own privacy. Like lockable door, own room, that kinda stuff. Also that you make sure she has friends, parents are a huge part of a child’s development but friends and social life are crucial to not only their mental health but their future ability to be a functioning adult. Maybe take the bus during the summer and settle down for the school year.
@UsPlusaBusРік тому

There are a couple too many channels on here that center around van or bus life that outright neglect their children’s needs, (im sure you’ve been informed of this already) and it’s gotten to a point where a child was hospitalized and the parents not only publicized the very private moments but refused to take any responsibility for their actions. @@UsPlusaBus “Family Of Nomads” I get a general feeling of “ick” seeing the videos they post with their kids, and im not the only person who feels this way. They preach about being Educated, taking down a video of them going to a animal center that abuses their animals, but then proceeds to spread misinformation about anorexia, the reason their eldest was hospitalized, Heres the link: ukposts.infoZ6q2wQlXeSs?feature=share Their children smile THE. WHOLE. TIME. The camera is rolling. Same expression, wide smile, teeth. The school their children via workbooks and online courses. They claim to give their children a choice to be on camera. But im not exactly sure thats the case. They recently moved into a bigger vehicle, upgrading their eldest from no privacy to still no privacy but at least she has a thin piece of plaster instead of a curtain to her bed now. People have noticed they delete comments that don’t praise what they’re doing, and if they can’t delete all the comments worrying about their kids they turn the comments off. What i meant by “has gotten to a point” is because their kids are so isolated, the only people around them being family, if their 14 year old has developed a life threatening eating disorder, it can literally be no one else’s fault but theirs. (The parents). Eating disorders dont come out of no where like they claimed, (seemingly to avoid responsibility bc theres no way they took her to an institution without being informed of that). The eldest is obviously depressed and not paid attention to enough. Its sad.
