Blacktail epoxy table workshop: www.blacktailstudio.com/the-e...
How I made this nine-foot-long bookmatched walnut and epoxy dining table for a client out of state. I've made a lot of epoxy tables now, but this was only my second bookmatched dining table. I give a couple tips in here that I have not included in a video previously. So I hope you can get something out of this video, even if you have seen other ones already!

Instead of neither, I say "both" -- it totally depends on the wood, the project, the final place it will occupy. Honoring wood (best way I could express it) and elevating it to its "best life" is an artform and everything is subjective. Love the care and thoughtfulness you give to the entire process.

Galen, it appears our very talented channel host is in his "bullet proof" years? At 70some I recall those years, and always encourage younger guys, especially those who're in great shape- to be careful, but being bullet proof? Its usually noise to deaf ears, until like so many of us we find the weak point in our body. Then we're 'old guys'!! Hope Cam can have 'ears to hear'- hate to see another young man learn the way we did! On the other hand "true learning only comes through pain!"

Ok ill give that a try. Also with the resin boards I made I sanded from 240 grit all the way up to 1200 grit, but still see micro scratches. @theduftmeister 3 роки тому
@@thomasesslinger4531 maybe start at lower than 240 and then build up? If you don't get the scratches out at a lower level, then I don't think any amount of sanding at higher grits will remove them. I may be wrong, but I think that may be the problem. Hope it helps.
@thomasesslinger4531
@thomasesslinger4531 3 роки тому
Yes i started at 80 grit sand paper because I had major bumps and straches from the thicknesser. Then slowly went up grits up to 2000 grit (5 hours of sanding, wet sanding). I still see minor straches in the finished product (I believe them to be straches from 2000 grit. Not a lower grit which is good). They are hard to see but i notice them haha.
