I made a wild guess, but it turned out to be right. A lot of people criticized the monument, and it was the only one I could think of that might have resembled a chimney.

I guessed the Statue of Liberty, figuring maybe the "chimney" comment referred to her torch. Congrats to Juveria!

I thought it was the Statue of Liberty too. I then had some doubts and thought Washington Monument, but reverted back to S.O.L. Oh well.

The correct answer was my first guess (and the one I stuck with) but I momentarily wondered if the US had their own version of the Sudbury super-stack

The largest freestanding masonry structure in the US is a smelter stack in Anaconda Montana. It is larger than the Washington Monument (the bottom of the smelter isnt masonry and the top of the Washington Monument isnt masonry)....and it IS a big chimney.

Went as a teen, fascinating history behind it, including how it was capped with the most expensive metal known at the time, aluminum.

Washington, DC. Dulles or National Airports. I live on Capitol Hill. I turn left and see The Capitol. When I walk to the west portico, I'm staring at the Washington Monument at the middle of the National Mall. Along the way you can visit the Smithsonian Museums... for free.

Whew, I got this correct. This is the first one I’ve answered correctly this week. The Eiffel Tower popped into my mind immediately, but that doesn’t fit the category. So, Washington Monument is the most chimney like thing. Amazing how many thoughts can zip through your brain in thirty seconds.

I knew right away it was the Washington Monument because I remember learning during a visit to DC that it was started before the Civil War and then construction paused during the war but after the war ended they finished its construction. That is why there are two different shades of bricks used in its construction. Also the chimney clue is because it's hollow on the inside just like a chimney

Maybe it was due to the writers' strike, but lately lots of these have been written to be too obvious. If someone asked you to guess which 19th century American historic structure was disparaged as "the great chimney" what would you guess?

Why would I want to just watch the final segment? And you seriously had all the uploader channels deleted? It used to be that whenever ABC put on some idiotic sporting event, I could still enjoy jeopardy cause some thoughtful person uploaded it. I guess you just don't want people watching your show? OH LET ME GUESS, you have a "myjeopardy" app or something equally vapid I can get for 50$/month. I really hate having to pirate stuff but you're literally giving me no choice.
