I was there eating the hongitos in 1973 . Back then "derumbas" were 20 pesos for una "familia" - which was expensive ( cause I was a gringo ) - almost $2. It was only a dirt road through the town. That big tree you passed @ 2:18 on the way into town was the center of town back then. People just ate the mushrooms and walked around with purple tongues. The hongitos weren't as strong as acid, but they were very much stronger than the Oaxaca sin semia. Only about 100 people lived in the town.

Famous last words, We eat all of them and go hiking up the hills beyond Ventana in Big Sur. A few hours later, with no clothes on, we find our way back to the cabin, where our girlfriends have been drinking wine and smoking weed.. They had no idea what we had done. So, "Where are your clothes?" They yell. I was so high I didn't realize I had no clothes on... It has been a decade or more since I had mushrooms. But soon I will find some. One thing I always liked about them was the laughing. You know you had a good time when your cheeks are sore from laughing for 5 hours straight...
