Ever since humans first gazed up at the stars, we’ve dreamed about the worlds beyond our own. Pursuing those dreams has brought us to the moon. To the surface of Mars. And to the outer reaches of our galaxy, beaming back breathtaking images from light years away. While we celebrate every breakthrough in our understanding of the universe, we can’t help but wonder…has all this brought us any closer to understanding our place on Earth? Or our inescapable connection to each other?
One that inspires awe, yes, but more importantly inspires the will to change. One that turns space tourism into Earth activism. One that not only soars to the stratosphere but brings our highest hopes to a soft landing on the common ground we all must share.

▶1. SpinLaunch - A vacuum-sealed centrifuge to spin a rocket.
Space startup wants to sling satellites into orbit with a huge centrifuge,
SpinLaunch is developing a kinetic energy space launch system that reduces dependency on traditional chemical rockets, with the goal of significantly lowering the cost of access to space while increasing the frequency of launch. The technology uses a vacuum-sealed centrifuge to spin a rocket and then hurl it to space at up to 5,000 miles per hour (8,000 km/h). The rocket then ignites its engines at an altitude of roughly 200,000 ft (61,000 m) to reach orbital speed of 17,500 miles per hour (28,200 km/h). If successful, the acceleration concept is projected to both lower the cost of launches and to use much less power, with the price of a single space launch reduced by a factor of 20 to under US$500,000.
On October 22, 2021, SpinLaunch successfully conducted the first test flight using its Suborbital Accelerator prototype launch system at supersonic speeds and ended with the recovery of the reusable flight vehicle at Spaceport America in New Mexico.

▶ 2. Starbase - The SpaceX South Texas launch site
Also known as the Boca Chica launch site, is a private rocket production facility, test site, and spaceport constructed by SpaceX, located at Boca Chica approximately 32 km east of Brownsville, Texas, on the US Gulf Coast.
Elon Musk’s dream of making life multi-planetary becomes ever more real with each passing day. Central to his vision is SpaceX’s first working spaceport, currently taking shape at breakneck speed out in the boondocks of South Texas.

▶ 3. Virgin Galactic - Air Launch
Air launching is the practice of releasing a rocket, missile, parasite aircraft or other aircraft payload from a mother ship or launch aircraft. The payload craft or missile is often tucked under the wing of the larger mother ship and then "dropped" while in flight. It may also be stored within a bomb bay, beneath the main fuselage or even on the back of the carrier aircraft, as in the case of the D-21 drone. Air launching provides several advantages over ground launching, giving the smaller craft an altitude and range boost, while saving it the weight of the fuel and equipment needed to take off on its own.
English billionaire Richard Branson made history with a flight to space (or not, according to FAI) on his company, Virgin Galactic’s, very own spaceship.

▶ 4. Workd View - Virtual Space Tourism Flight to the Stratosphere
World View Enterprises, headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, founded with the goal of increasing access to and the utilization of the stratosphere for scientific, commercial, and economic purposes - is developing a balloon-based system that will carry people to the stratosphere, with the first commercial flights targeted for early 2024, the Arizona-based company announced Oct. 4.
The company hopes that its offering, in which a massive balloon, or parafoil, lifts a passenger capsule to a height of nearly 19 miles (30 km), will capture a distinctly space-like experience.
The typical ride will last six to eight hours and take passengers to an altitude of at least 100,000 feet (30,000 meters), where they'll be able to see the curvature of Earth against the blackness of space. But the overall experience will last five days, which will be spent in and around sites of natural beauty and cultural and historical significance, World View representatives said.
