I love the idea of a "detached large roof" over tiny houses, containers or not. Protects the structure, can collect water or sun (then you can have less side useless windows)...

The house is only big enough for two people...you can't walk through the bathroom while your husband is peeing? Or you can't wait two minutes? How often do you need something in a tiny bedroom while someone is in the bathroom.

I am in the process of modifying my own container. It's 40' high cube. refrigerated unit completely insulated and all stainless steel inside.I have been in full conception of researching any and everything about this incredible adventure for the past 2 years. out of every video documentary .anything to do with containers or tiny houses. My favorite feature is the porch with the large lumber and the short railing so it doesn’t close it off so much. That’s a great idea for an outdoor space that still has a great view

I love the outdoor design of the house! The layout inside is very efficient other than the 'compact' living-room space. I definitely would want a 20' container added to expand that space and give it a dining area too. Other than that, I love the position of the bathroom - it serves as an ensuite whilst also providing a separate toilet area for the rest of the home. What I did not see is ample bedroom wardrobe space!!! This house definitely needs more storage area...

I loved the gentleman's presentation of this gorgeous tiny home. I would love to live in it. Most of the time in my large home I'm in my bedroom which also serves as my office. It's about the same amount of space as the foyer/living room in the container...what an incredible use of the space.

I am surprised to hear it was the first one approved in Victoria. They have about 30 other refurbished shipping containers being converted now for homeless people too with shared bathroom and shower facilities won't be as fancy I'm sure but it's a viable solution to our housing crisis.

GORGEOUS!! I love the reuse of shipping containers as homes. I hope shipping containers can be used by more and more by cities and municipalities to help with the housing crises, and most importantly, as a way to help houseless people and families with safe places to live, and as footing to financial wellbeing.

Those shipping containers use to transport toxic and hazardous waste and there is no national system to track the use of them cuz this country likes to play Russian roulette with blindfolds on...its apparently easier to pretend than it is to live with cancer lmfao..people put no thought into actual science or chemistry that affects their lives everyday...but hey be my guest and live in a box that transported radioactive waste if you want too..I work for a container company that 'Repurposes' containers and buddy if you only knew...lol buyer beware is all I'm saying people..there is always more to it than you realize and someone is profiting from your ignorance

Very Nice! Great idea putting a roof over the container as well as the porch! Maybe it's the angle of the camera... but the roof looks shorter on one side than the other. I'd want it the same all the way around. And I think I'd have the lav against the cabinet and the toilet facing it/sideways so it's not sticking out in the walkway or visible from the living area.

Beautiful!!! Love the idea of spray-foaming the entire envelope. If you didn't go with spray foam I imagine there might be moisture/vapor barrier issues between framing/batt insulation and steel exterior walls. I'd go with a solar roof and water collection off same. Sure the finished interior is tight at 6' 8" but if you are stepping up from living in a car or a van it would be stupendous!!! I can't imagine watching a TV from that couch but I guess it's no different than sitting at a desk and staring at a gosh-forsaken computer monitor all day. Hopefully living tiny might inspire people to get outside more. Interesting seeing the Queen bed touching both finished 'side' walls. Again... it's tight. A standard queen bed dimensions are 60 inches by 80 inches, or 5 feet by 6 feet, 8 inches. By the time you get your underground utilities in, pour a foundation, and add the exterior decking and associated roofing... you are still probably dropping $150k to $250k :(. Still love it!!! I'm gonna build me one some day. Add a couple axels and wheels and call it a rolling shipping container.

I'm estatic to see someone who knows building science building shipping containers homes! I want to build one in the not too distant future and have already looked into finding a building science consultant for it but there are very few who have shipping container experience. Will definitely be reaching out to this company in the future! As someone who is still recovery from mold illness from a small home with hidden mold, I know first hand just how vital making sure your building a healthy home with a climate controlled environment is! I think you could’ve use some of the area above the container between the roof as living living space. Then you can add your sleeping quarters up there and put the bathroom below
