I think my solution for the third problem decode XORd permutation is very similar to Errichto's solution. Adding a leetcode discuss link, If someone wants to read a detailed explanation with proof for the same.

@errichto2 problem 3 can be solved easier if we just found the last element. Let's say the original sequence had a, b, c. We can then xor every alternating value in the encoded sequence followed by xoring abc. Ab xor abc = c

will this work?? we can find the first 3 number by hit and trail then I will simply xor the previous number to get next like 1^2 2^3 3^4 4^5 so I will check what are those 3 number which will give 1st and 2nd number

isn't Star and bar method applicable for identical objects. but here all prime factors are not identical.

I am curious why you use ++i instead of i++, Is there a reason for preferring one over the other?

For looping, no. ++i is just the k&r way for incrementing. A lot of the older programmers( + ppl who learned c first or pascal) follow the k&r coding style. In other cases, post increment and pre increment could change the value of your final answer though
