Which one of these changes do you believe was the best thing the MCU did?

Not only would the "real" Mandarin being in Iron Man 3 take away from Shang-Chi, but also take away from the build up of Thanos being Iron Man's true nemesis starting with Avengers and ending with Endgame

I honestly didn't like vulture in the comics and I think mcu did a great thing with his story

I think the MCU "fixed" Scarlet witch. Before infinity war she was incredibly underpowered who never got moments to shine and was always with other people. But since infinity war she has had many epic moment's, that also show her potential and of course she got her own show to shine where we finally get to see her true power potential and it really dives into her as a character. She is now a primary character who I can't wait to appear in multiverse of madness

The Worst part is we never got to see Tony actually fight the Mandarin

Hawkeye's haircut in Endgame is absolutely amazing and it's not a trash one . He's getting all the justice in Hawkeye show

The Mandarin thing in Iron Man 3 was actually brilliant, they used it to actually call out the way Western society has been prone to believe in middle eastern boogeyman instead of realizing the villains were in their own backyard, and quite frankly I think a good chunk of the anger at the Mandarin twist came from folks upset about the not so subtle political call out on western society. I almost wish Marvel didn’t fold to angry fans and make a real Mandarin, but the way they did bring in the real Mandarin by also having Wenwu make fun of the usage of the name was also a brilliant way of keeping what happened in the film intact while still calling out western society’s tendencies for stereotypes. So ultimately it worked both ways for me.

For me, I’m not a fan of Sharon Carter’s villain story arc in Falcon and The Winter Soldier. I feel like it was unnecessary to make her a villain as she was already a really enjoyable character and Marvel didn’t need to change the character’s moral direction. I also am upset that the Feige didn’t rename the Disney+ series “Captain America and Bucky” in the show’s end credits.

i think my least favorite part about hulk is that they made him into comedic relief when in avengers 1&2 he was a super complex and deep character in relation to bruce banner

i know Zemo is just the overarching antagonist of civil war, but I thought his initial mcu version serves purpose really well, like he did break up the avengers to pieces and its effect took over and one of the big reasons why the avengers lost the infinity war. Zemo's new reason in FaWS was necessary, as it should (he needs to be relevant to make his appearance make sense), but I thought Zemo is not Ruined character in Civil War.

Taskmaster=Ruined. And yes, I would go back and change it so Kingsley was the real Mandarin.

The MCU have ruined the Hulk in Infinity War and Endgame which pissed me and fans off.

Honestly, Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin would've been epic.

Taika waititi's version of Thor saved the characters. Taika waititi is know for his humour, and engaging him for Thor Ragnarok was really the best thing to do, honestly Ragnarok is the movie that made me go "wow, I love Thor" while before I saw him as boring, even annoying. We definitely have to thank taika waititi and Chris Hemsworth for forging Thor's Identity and paving this new way for him

The question at the end, I feel as though many people are forgetting is that Peter was, and still is, a genius even before meeting Tony Stark. In the comics Peter used his intellect, engineering skills, and creativity to build his own company from the ground up by inventing things. Despite me thinking that part of the reason others see Peter as a "Tony Stark Jr." is because of the way Peter was introduced into the franchise and having Tony become a mentor/father figure, I think it was the only and best way to introduce Spider-man without having to go through another Spider-man origins movie. No one seems to realise, or at least says it, that Tony needed Peter as son figure just as much as Peter needed Tony as a parental figure, they both learned greatly from each other, and it prepared Tony to have a child of his own.

Hulk has been the most disappointing to me. Considering that he is one of my most favorite superheroes, he was nerfed to degrees that just broke my heart

You forgot taskmaster💀 I love that character so much and was a massive let down sure a woman taskmaster would of been cool and different but they just forgot taskmasters story or something and thought yh his just a guy with a helmet now😂

I feel like they ruined Nitro too. He would've great for civil war instead of exploding what's his name. It also feels like they ripped his power off with Killian and lackeys in Iron man 3. A complete waste.

I think the biggest fix is on The Falcon being a Captain America. When Steve give the shield to Sam I feel like the reputation of Captain America was ruined. But the Falcon series really fixed it. Sam and me think alike where he did not deserve the shield bc he is just a bird. But then, the series open up my eyes where being a Captain America is more than being strong.

Love Tony Leung as Wenwu, Mandarin. He brought depth. Vulture is great with Keaton.

No way home fixed Spiderman I don't know exactly why, but watching the movie in theater I realized he felt more like spidey than before. It was simply weird to have spidey without Uncle Ben

I really don't think turning Thor into a clown is a fix. He is a serious character who feels out of place in our world He's not a character for everyone to like.

Biggest disappointment is what they did TO and WITH the Hulk. He needs to be re-edeemed. They also missed a HUGE opportunity not introducing FOX's Mutants into the MCU in Wandavision.

Being a fan of the 80's Thor, and having read the Jane Foster's Thor, I thought Malekith should have had more smiles and been a more forcible foe since he was the main antagonist in those comic series.

I think having an Iron Man legacy character is exactly what the MCU needed and throwing that mantle on a hero who we've already gotten to know in 5 other movies was the best choice they could have made. It allows Holland's Spider-man to both inherit the Stark legacy and remain an individual.

It feels like I say this a lot, related to MCU flicks, but is that really that character? Is Sharon Carter really Sharon Carter? Mystique? Hydra fake-face tech? Multi-verse Sharon? Hail-Hydra Sharon? As to shield to Sam instead of Buckey - it's always been my personal theory, based on Steve and Buckey's, nod just before Sam received the shield, that Sam knew what was going to happen, and the decision was at least partly based on a conversation Steve and Buckey had had prior and off screen.

Zemo just simply didn't work at all in either the movie or the TV series. He's just a character that failed to live up to his Pulp counterpart.

Not all characters can be goofy or funny all the time. Thor is a demigod stoic warrior and Thor Ragnarok ruined the character. I’ve been a fan of Thor and Norse mythology since the 90’s. Although I mostly agree with this video.

I liked whiplash he established in the MCU that the hero's aren't god figures and it could easily of been him and his family that owned the stark fortune. He was mad his dads work was not given credit and he was the one to rot in Russia.

Taskmaster was a terrible character in the MCU.

When I first saw the scene of Zemo putting on the mask (and then immediately taking it off), I also thought it was ridiculous and useless. However, watching the scene again (right here in the clip you provided) it seems to me a logical choice for any normal human who doesn't want to get flashburned by a very close explosion to want to don a mask of any kind, even a flashy purple one. Yes, it would have failed to protect his eyes, the most vital and exposed part to any sudden increase in heat, but it does provide decent coverage. Yes, this is an action show and some disbelief is to be expected just like any other movie where the heroes slowly walk away from an explosion, but come on. We're growing up and it's getting harder and stupider to accept a normal human possessing the necessary tolerance to go unharmed by such things. Zemo is brilliant, but he is no supersoldier.

You are extremely wrong CBR! As the "villain" Ben Kingsley's Mandarin was fantastic! As Trevor Slattery...a disappointment. The Mandarin was one of Iron Mans' greatest foes and a great overall Marvel villain. In Shang Chi, The Mandarin was not a villain at all. He was just a lonely sad man who lost his wife. The "rings" which are now bracelets all basically have the same power. Where in the comics, the actual rings each had a different power. So, Marvel actually ruined the Mandarin twice! As a side note, a cute little cameo for Trevor in Shang Chi would have been cutesy...but to have the same tired one-dimensional joke, play on for the whole second half of the movie was annoying!

I agree with Mandarin, Hulk, Malekith definitely. Mandarin needed to face Iron Man. I would add Betty Ross because she has just disappeared. I think Red Skull should be on here too. Dormamamu too hopefully they fix him in the future. War Machine could be better.

3:07 If people actually watched the 2008 Incredible Hulk film, they'd realize Bruce mastered control over turning into the Hulk. The scene where he first Hulk'd out in The Avengers, he was influenced by Loki's scepter as well as getting caught in an explosion...

I don't necessarily agree with the theory that Bruce doesn't _ever_ remember being The Hulk. Yes he's completely confused when he changes back into Bruce in Ragnarok but he's been The Hulk for many years by that time - it's understandable that the Bruce side of him will have taken a serious 'back seat'. Because of that, by Infinity War I imagine he's strived to have some element of control or at least memory - which ultimately leads to him becoming Smart Hulk. In his words "for years I've been treating the Hulk like he's some kinda disease - something to get rid of. But then I started looking at him as the cure." It's not a stretch to think that, as a result of the events of Ragnarok, he was already changing his opinion of The Hulk. Getting his butt kicked by Thanos just cemented that idea. The two personalities are not distinct - Norton's Banner has flashbacks of his actions as Hulk.

Taskmaster is one of my favorite villains mainly cause he’s not really a super villain but kind of an anti-villain. He’s a mercenary that’s hired for jobs buts he’s super cool and interesting. At first when I watched black widow I thought that they hired taskmaster to track down the case which would have been way better cause as a mercenary he would have been able to make a LOT of appearances but they literally made an entirely different character and just slapped his design on it. In my opinion easily the worst they messed up so bad with him.

I would say the weakest MCU movie would have to be The Incredible Hulk personally. I actually quite like Iron Man 2 now, it’s kinda fun.

While there were problems with Falcon and the Winter Soldier I thought it did a good job getting it's main story across. Which was establishing why Sam was chosen and why Bucky couldn't hold the mantle, at least not yet. Bucky could have been as bad or worse then Adam Walker since they were both essentially "damaged." Sam had the heart needed to be Steve's replacement.

I think they did a good job with the Peter Parker Character in terms of 1, the central theme is still power and responsibility theme by but now it was not the old story we have seen in every spiderman movie (which likely would have seen Sean Bean cast as Uncle Ben). He is always conflicted as he searches for balance, making the wrong choices along the way because he idolizes people or doesn't trust himself. Spiderman tales have always spoken to the modern youth and i think i can see it there.

I have to agree the MCU screwed Sharon's character. As fan of the character from the comics and the previous movies. First starters the whole things about being left behind by SHIELD doesn't make sense given that happened 4 movies and x amount of years before the Falcon series and events like the snap/dusting and people coming back and trying to figure out to shape the resurrected world. Her being a bitter angry person to the point if throwing away everything she believed in, everything Peggy taught her just doesn't make sense. She would have I think I understood the challenges being faced to some degree and regardless she wouldn't have given up on doing what's right. I mean hell just go listen to her eulogy for Peggy or look at the fact she stood up the Crossbones and Hydra or that she got Cap and Winter Soldier there gear knowing she would face heat... Does that seem like a person only concerned with career would do?? Speaking Crossbones, yeah he got screwed too... I would have love to see him become a regular bad guy merc for hire type and I I wish they had brought Red Skull back and got to see him and Crossbones team up.

The Mandrin. Keep it as it is. This way, the first time he was portrayed it wasn't really him. But this is the reason he has come into the fold of this Universe. He thought Stark wasn't really a true threat to him at first. It is now apparent to him he was either mistaken or Stark improved at it. Why not immediately? He had to wait a while as he was busy with something else in a in a parallel dimension a few trillion light years away. Just a thought. The Hulk. This stems from Ed Notron's Hulk. He can't even make love to the woman of his life without turning into the Hulk and possible hurting her if not worse. To not be able to have deep emotions for someone without hurting them and knowing it. Yes, this would make someone angry all of the time. And with Black Widow. He would rather walk away from her than put her in danger from his alternate self. Also in Infinity Wars, all of the male characters were wimpified for Girl Power. Iron Man Two was a complete mess. I read a shortened book on it, blame everyone who didn't follow this book and/or Comic storyline. For this movie, Whiplash was Iron Man's equivalent to Spider Man Three's Topher Grace as Venom. Quicksilver, what he said. What do you expect when the writers have lazy periods and take the easy was out instead of trying to be creative? Sharron Carter. Another case of lazy writing. She could have so much been a double agent going under cover to whatever to take control of it and then take the bad guys down. Lighting round. Lazy writing by someone that knows or cares zero about the subject material. Thor. Now you see what can happen with a good production team. A good Director, a good Actor, an actual story and plot and then playing up to the actor's strong points. This equals a good watchable entertaining movie without agendas or messages that are beaten into your skull against your will. Hawkeye. Don't diss on the team's good luck charm. What? This has already been discussed and I'm only letting this dude know about it. Everytime Hawkeye is present at a fight The Avengers win. If he isn't there, they won't. He wasn't with the team in their first outing against Thanos, and they lost badly. Cap. It didn't feel right, but it was an appropriate growth arch. He started out as out of time until he had caught up to the present and got comfortable in his role with the team. And as for him going back in time. There are at least two of him and one of them had to go back for closure of his character. And before you comment, his story has to continue this way to the fact that if he had never left, the MCU wouldn't exist and America would be speaking German due to Red Skull's reign over the Country under Hitler. And for Sam and Bucky. What if they are both to be different versions ot Captain America? Zemo. What do you expect from a Universe with too many people on center stage during all first appearances? We will just introduce the character in a sloppy way and then fix whoever/whatever later.

Yes I would change Iron Man 3 because that plot twist was so gut-wrenchingly disappointing to me and I know I'm not alone in that. I was really really excited to see Tony's best villain. And thanks to that let down and his death in Endgame, well never see the 2 face off. Imagine if the real Joker was revealed just after Batman dies, that's how let down I feel. And besides, it won't really change Shang-Chi much.

Mandarin ruined and ruined. The first retcon sucked the second was cool in its own way but still completely changed the character. The comic book Mandarin has never been in the MCU.

CBR is wrong--just like everyone else--about Iron Man 2 being bad and Iron Man 3 being good. The Mandarin "reveal" in IM3 is my least favorite MCU moment. IM2, while problematic, is still fun at least! Hammer is Great and even though they should have given Whiplash more screen time/more to do, he was still a better villain than Iron Monger. And the racetrack fight scene is still one of the MCU's best! IM2 was flawed but fun. IM3 was a mess and ends in a way that makes no sense.

Mandarin was toxic due to being so un-PC, you had to get him out of the way early on but lay the groundwork to have other villains do the dirty work before Avengers. it’s what happened with Thor and Captain America, it’s a smart move and left things ambiguous on purpose you commentators act like they don’t have long range plans, this reeks of setting things up for a bigger reveal later on: which happened!

The problem with the Mandarin 'twist' is that Ben Kingsley is just too damn good an actor. His range is incredible (proven by the switch from 'Mandarin' to Trevor). Had the fake Mandarin just been a generic bad guy I wouldn't have cared. Comic book villains are extremely hard to do in film, to create any real suspense, because in the back of our minds we KNOW the hero will always win. So the question is how real does the peril feel on the hero's way to beating the bad guy? Honestly until the 'twist' Kingsley had me on the edge of my seat: his propaganda videos, the call to the President on Air Force One, he was spellbinding! I was genuinely wondering how on earth Tony could possibly beat this guy and it brought back memories of watching The Dark Knight...and then we got the twist, a bland, boring generic villain in Killian and frankly another of the same when the real Mandarin showed up in Shang-Chi.

I don't know, I really liked goodie tooshoes Capt. It was quaint and fun to have a "don't forget to take your vitamins" type character in the middle of all the dark chaos and destruction.

I personally didn’t really like Spidey being SO close to Iron Man. ACTUALLY, I don’t think it was really their relationship that bothered me. It was how much Stark influenced Parker on a technological scale. I liked what they did in Far From Home where he made his own suit. I just don’t want Spider-Man to be able to solve all his issues with his suit. Also, and I cannot stress this enough…I REALLY don’t like the Iron Spider suit. I am really hoping Doc Ock destroys it in No Way Home. That is my biggest criticism of MCU Spidey’s character.

Why do so many people dislike ironman 2 its actually my top 10 marvel film it may be my #10 but still.. well i guess as a veteran i appreciate all the military scenes. Like if you liked ironman 2..
