Valve is doing more with an update in 1 month than Nintendo did in 5 years.

I don't know why, but something about Valve's videos makes them really enjoyable.

This was super relaxing and informative. I don't own a deck yet myself, but the quick updates and responses to feedback have made me very excited to pick one up in the future. Awesome stuff!

The amount of transparency through this video about how things are still a work in progress and even talking about Windows drivers is something I deeply admire and wish any other company would be this up front with their products that they're working on and fixing/enhancing. Valve pls update tf2

I have to say I'm extremely impressed with how quickly things are being fixed. Fan was annoying and just a few weeks later BAM, fixed. Skyrim SKSE multiple windows were messing with gamescope and legit 1 full week later it got fixed. Right now for my current playstyle the Steam Deck is perfect. Only regret I had was that I didn't buy the most expensive option

My recommendation to Valve: MAKE A UPDATE TO TF2, like add some new elements, maybe add in past classes like the Civilian and also add new classes. Add new mechanics and voices to go with the new Classes. Take a look at Team Fortress 2 Classic, where people have added in the Civilian and have also added new teams like a Yellow Team and Green team, also, Count To THREE. It’s not hard, look: 1 … 2 …. 3. Super easy. Also, I have two new ideas for two new classes. The Smoke Bomb Runner, and The Mad Scientist.

Valve is turning from one of the most secretive tech companies with barely any releases in years, into one of the best tech and gaming companies who’s great at communicating with their customers and public, while also being extremely geek friendly with the amount of customization and openness of their Steam Deck. It’s a breath of fresh air. Now I want one even more than before :)

The thing I love about the steam deck, is not that it's insanely powerful for just a handheld, but that valve gives us permission to do whatever we want with our device. They literally advertised installing windows. Like Microsoft completely removed the ability to install windows on Xbox, but then there's Valve literally giving you tools to do whatever you want with your device. You payed for it, you can do what you want. I think other companies should follow this, but still making sure that people don't use this to exploit games.

Valve please update tf2 it means so much to so many people some people have put to much time and money into this game for you to abandon it

For the love of "User Friendliness" let us set a resolution/scaling options in Game Mode. When plugging the Deck by Usb-C/HDMI to a tv/monitor t's all over the place and would be a solid fix. Scaling would be good in general, handheld or "docked".

I love how casually they brushed over the fact that they allow you to change the decks Operating system. Like "Oh yeah by the way you can install windows 10 or whatever. Not a big deal, look at these joystick upgrades!" It's fantastic to see how transparent they are and how they allow such customization. Compared to other gaming consoles, this is very refreshing.

I shall, go into detail about my two classes that I made up. The Smoke Bomb Runner is the smallest class in the game, if he was a real person and in TF2 lore, he would be 3ft and 6inches tall. His health would be only at 100 which would make his health the lowest health of any class, because of his small size, but if over-healed, he would have 120 health, which would still be low. He would be the Second fastest class in the game with a Speed of 120%, however, he only goes 110% when going backwards, and only 90% when crouched, but he can swim exceedingly fast in water with a speed of 130% when swimming, and like the Soldier & Demoman, he can use his main weapon to jump across maps. Being the Smoke Bomb Runner, he has 3 primary weapons that Suit his taste of smoke, The Smoke Bomb Launcher and it’s Sticky Smoke Bombs, the Smoke Grenades, and the Smoke Spray Mine. The Smoke Bomb Launcher is like the sticky Launcher but it has a smoke tank on its top and it launches Bombs that are Cylinder in shape with rounded ends rather then Spheres and it’s covered in spikes to stick like the Sticky Bomb. The Smoke Bombs launched from the Smoke Bomb Launcher can travel from 20 - 50 meters in distance from the actual launcher. When the Smoke Bombs detonate, they create a smoke cloud with a Radius of 5 meters, and the smoke lasts for 2 seconds, and the blind effect the smoke causes lasts for 4 seconds ( The Blind Time ( BT ) is twice as long as the Smoke Time ( ST )). The Smoke Grenades are Cylinder in shape with a small metal device on its top with two wires. The Smoke Grenades can be detonated at the same time as the Smoke Bombs and they have 3 qualities, Low Quality, Average Quality, and High Quality. Low Quality Smoke Grenades have a Smoke Cloud Radius( SCR ) of 2 meters, and it has a ST of 5 seconds and a BT of 10 seconds. Low Quality happens most often with 60% of Smoke Grenades thrown being Low Quality. Average Quality Smoke Grenades have a SCR of 3 meters, a ST of 10 seconds, and a BT of 20 seconds. Average Quality happens for every 30% of Smoke Grenades thrown. High Quality Smoke Grenades have a SCR of 4 meters, a ST of 15 seconds, and an astonishing 30 seconds of BT. High Quality is the least often of Smoke Grenades and only 10% of the Smoke Grenades thrown are High Quality. Then their is the Smoke Spray Mines. These are scattered around, appearing Harmless but once detonated, they create the largest smoke cloud of any Main Weapon of the Smoke Bomb Runner. For the Smoke Spray Mine, it has a very impressive 10 meter SCR, but the same ST and BT as the High Quality Smoke Grenade. The Smoke Bomb Runners Secondary Weapons are his Suppressed Pistol and his cool Rifle Drum Shotgun. Melee weapons of the Smoke Bomb Runner are the Hatchet, the Trowel, the Square Mallet, and the Combat Knife. The Smoke Bomb Runner wears Brown or Black Pants ( Brown For Red and Black for Blu ) and he wears a Red or Blue ( Red for Red, and Blue for Blue, but he can have any color ) shirt with 3 yellow stripes on the sleeves and he has a Belt staring on the line between pants and shirt then going up and going down again ( The Belt holds his Smoke Grenades). On his shirt their is a Pocket on his Left Chest and his Emblem on his Right. He has Thin Black Hair on his head and Brown Eyes. He was born and Raised in Tennessee by his Father and Mother ( and his Great Great Grandfather is from Asia, but you couldn’t tell just by looking at him ). He is fair skinned and he doesn’t Swear, and he makes the Mad Scientist also not Swear. He likes Ramen Noodles and Chips and he will eat an Entire Bag of Chips and that Bag restores his Health. The Chip brand is called “Salted Butter Chips!” which is a nice apricot orange colored bag with yellow words on it and one chip restores 2 health. The Smoke Bomb Runner can even give these chip bags to teammates and that helps restore their health ( Chip Bags can have 50 - 200 chips each ) if he is willing to share that is. Also, the Smoke Bomb Runner can be equipped with almost any Hat or Goggle item, including rare variants and unusual’s. Goggles can actually Save a player from being blinded. Goggles can Make the Blind Effect only one or two seconds long. The Smoke Bomb Runner is not a great dancer but he will move his legs side to side and swivel his arms around. He can also swing his legs backwards and forwards and do the Cha Cha. The Smoke Bomb Runner, being the Smallest Class, gives him an Advantage no other class has. He can hide out in Small Tight Spots that No other class can get to like underneath cris crossed wooden beams and under wooden platforms no other class can get too. Now for the Mad Scientist. He would be 5ft and 8inches tall if he was a real person. He would have 250 health, but if over-healed, his health would be at 295. His normal speed is 100%, his backward speed is 80%, his Crouching speed is 78%, and when he is using his weapon the Lightning Launcher 5000, his speed will be at its slowest, at 40% which is the slowest speed, and his swimming speed is exactly the same as his normal speed, 100%. His Primary Weapons are his Lightning Launcher 5000, the Nano Dart Launcher and Nano Juice Darts, and his Erlenmeyer Flasks of Poison and his Florence Flasks of Acid. The Lightning Launcher 5000 is the largest and most powerful weapon of the Mad Scientist but with its great ability of Causing 50 damage to an enemy player per second, it slows the Mad Scientist down by 60%. The minimum output of the Lightning Launcher 5000 is only 10 wats, which only deals 5 Damage per second, but the Maximum Output is 1000000 Wats of Electricity which causes that 50 damage a Second, and the Whole weapon is powered by a 1000000000 wat battery and a yellow stabling liquid that keeps the Weapon from blowing up. This weapon can also be attacked by Spy’s where they can put their Saper on it and it can cause the Weapon to Explode, killing the Scientist and all the players around him. The Lightning Launcher 5000 can also zap more then one player, which means the mad scientist, like the heavy can also mow down entire enemy teams, if the player playing him is smart enough to not get Back-Stabbed, Sniped, or get his precious Lightning Launcher Sapped. Then their is the Nano Dart Launcher. It fires Nano Juice Darts. The Nano Juice in the Darts is a DNA manipulating and destroying liquid that causes pain. The Nano Juice Darts deal 10 damage each, and the Nano Dart Launchers fire rate speeds up as the Mad Scientist takes on more Damage ( Also, their is a Rare variant of the Nano Dart Launcher that can shoot a special type of Nano Juice Dart that can actually change a players class in the game ( Change the class they are playing at random ), but the super rare Variant is super rare and also so Insanely Stupidly Expensive ). Then their is the Florence Flask of Acid and the Erlenmeyer Flask of Poison. They are just flasks of Acid and Poison that when splashed on an Enemy caused 50 damage and the splash effect caused by the Smashing of the Flasks causes 30 damage to the players close to the one who was Directly hit. Secondary weapons are the Pistol, the Short Barreled Pump Shotgun, and a Machine Pistol. Melee Weapons if the Mad Scientist are a Crowbar, a Mallet, a Taser, a Butchers Knife, and a Round Saw with a Hypnotic thing on it ( It’s called the Hypno Saw ). The Mad Scientist wears Red Umber or Navy Blue paints and a Cool Brown Suit Shirt with a Red and Yellow Bow Tie and Red Buttons, or a Blue Suit Shirt with Purple and Black Bow tie with purple buttons and a White Lab Coat and Mad Scientist Goggles. He also wears a Single Red or Blue Glove with yellow tips on his right hand. He can be given nearly any hat style and he can also have rare unusual’s of his weapons and hats. He also has this cool shade feature to his Science Goggles so he can hide his eyes like the Pyro and the Engineer. His hair is the classic Mad Scientist white and his eyes are in two colors. His Right Eye is Blue while his Left Eye is green. The Mad Scientist was Born in Romania, but moved about Europe, to Russia to Germany to England, and then to the US. He knows how to speak in Russian, German, Romanian, and English, though he normally speaks English ( He speaks Romanian to Himself and his Family). His Great Great Great Great Great Grandfather is Victor Frankenstein, which is why he is a Mad Scientist. In Lore, he worked for Aperture Laboratories for a time before coming to the TF2 world and getting used to his life as a Mercenary. He meet the Smoke Bomb Runner who he found quite Intriguing and annoying, and he also had fun Shocking the Enemy team. He is Crazy and insane, and in another time line, he made a TF2 Mod real with a modification to his Nano Juice Darts and His Nano Dart Launcher, and it’s something I am not going to Talk about. His Skin is Pale and he is quite insane, even his family thinks he is crazy, but he likes being labeled the Crazy one, because he says he dose it in the name of Science and study. He can also walk with his hands, he can even dance while hand standing, and he can also dance normally. That is the Mad Scientist and the Smoke Bomb Runner. If Valve decides to make TF3 and they use my Ideas, I would think that Quite cool, but I doubt Valve will even notice this. Anyways, that is all.

I just got my steam deck and I LOVE this thing! It's ridiculously powerful for a portable device and it constantly blows me away with what its capable of. I love how the old steam controller configuration has been consistantly improved through the years and it's better than ever on the deck.

Seeing all of these videos again and again is making me SO excited to get my hands on a steam deck but I have to wait around a half decade before I can even start working, let alone a disposable income

You guys are great! Being a Q1 Steam Deck user I could definitely tell that I am somewhat of an early adopter of the OS. But right now, it's honestly pretty solid. The bugs I have so far is - pop-ups blur background, but in pop-ups like release notes for updates. The blur won't dissappear when going back from to pop-up. - if I am plugged into my 1440p monitor when booting DeckUI I can only see 1/4 of the screen (need to unplug and plug back in for it to fix the correct resolution) - I can't really use mouse and keyboard in Deck UI mode since the Steam Controller input seems to have the upper hand. Also, I would love to be able to change output resolution and refresh rate. (+ freesync) when connected to external screen in DeckUI mode. But I think you guys will solve most of these things as the dock will launch. :) Generally, I am AMAZED of how many games work, even unsupported games work just fine! I have been installing around fifty games, even games from GOG and Epic Games store. In total two of them didn't work, one of them I couldn't get working in Windows either without a community mod.

Honestly really impressed with the Deck when compared to other handheld consoles. How open and customizable the Deck is just makes me happy.

Hope all of these UI improvements make it over to the desktop big picture mode, would love to tinker with my controllers like this 2:19 without having the big picture UI flipping out when I have a controller on and moving the mouse like it does sometimes, or having the whole thing close down because my controller idle disconnected.

I wanted Valve's VR headset for so long. I had a friend who had one and I would go every single day to play with his VR Headset, but he moved and now I can't play anymore. Those were good times 😔. But besides that Valve sure is making improvements on their products

I love the communication and the transparency on the recent videos, really amazing to have this kind of insight from the company itself rather than waiting for 3rd party reviewers and stuff

Something I thought would be super useful for the Deck would be configured profiles for your fine tuning, per game, sp you don't have to tune each game you play once you find a sweet spot. Then later you could even do the same ring Valve already does with controller configuration and allow users to share their settings with others.

Honestly the casual style of the video makes me want to get the steam deck. Wish I had the money, but I think I have enough computers for now, with my laptop and desktop. I also feel it's a bit unclear when it comes to performance, not sure which games play well or not.
