I wonder if the Aunt can sue the agency that removed the children from a basically a safe environment with their relatives to be tortured and killed by strangers.

This breaks my heart because their poor Aunt made one mistake. I’ve got three kids and I have made many mistakes and have never had them taken away from me. I hope she doesn’t blame herself because she must be so heart sick from what ended up happening to her nephews and niece.

It’s also worth considering that even though we know more of the story, on paper the aunt DID endanger the kids. So in a case she probably wouldn’t stand a chance. I obviously don’t agree with that and know that the kids were so much safer with their aunt than where they ended up. All I’m saying is the “evidence” will say that she did put them in danger and break rules, and that makes it difficult to win a case.

I have to be careful how I phrase this but I find it interesting from a psychological standpoint that they adopt six children who were ALL outside of their own ethnic group. I’m not saying white people can’t adopt non-white children or vice versa, but with the Harts it seems to be yet another layer to the facade that they had built. It appears that it’s the ultimate in virtue-signalling, almost saying “Aren’t we incredible, not only have we adopted but we have adopted six poor children of colour, we’ve saved them”... idk, it just doesn’t sit right with me that they didn’t have children from a variety of backgrounds, like they were using their colour to cultivate an image.

I got major Myka Stauffer vibes from that. (She adopted a disabled Chinese kid, used him to make content and gain followers and sponsors on social media, then "rehomed" him because she got tired of his autism.)
@lizzislookbook110
@lizzislookbook110 2 роки тому
@@SerTasera yes, I remember reading about her on maybe Reddit and being disgusted... The term “rehoming” made me feel physically sick; he’s a human child, not a houseplant or a side table. I also recall that she apparently said he “wasn’t a good fit” for them... surely you would be prepared, prior to adopting, that things wouldn’t necessarily slot neatly into place and you’d go into it willing to work through inevitable difficulties?! That, to me, makes it evident that she used the poor child for her own gain which is beyond sickening.

I think Jen lost her anger on finding out that Devonte, their "favorite", was secretly getting food and confiding in the neighbors to help his siblings. She may have killed him in her rage and at that point knew there was no way to fix the situation or get away with it, so she did the only way out that she could control and went off the cliff. I think Devonte took most of the abuse and unfortunately I think he took it willingly to save the others. Normally in a group of kids being abused there's always one or two who willfully take the abuse to spare the other children. I think these monsters became jealous of him because he became well known around the world after the picture of him hugging the officers & weeping. Remember the "working" mother mainly loved attention hence the staged photos, etc. She probably was angry that he started to get attention and not her. I remember my boyfriend stated "The photo looked like the child's soul was weeping for genuine love & protection" He said he felt weird when he looked at the photo. Jesus.....This story is so heartbreaking and to think these news programs had this little boy's picture with him hugging the officer everywhere but strangely I never heard them report on this part of his life. As a matter of fact I always wondered how he was doing and then all of a sudden I had been watching true crime videos/analysis on UKposts and it lead me to many videos about him but out of all of them I've seen her analysis was perfect. People need to wake up and see that adoption is for white people by white people. And ones with money at that. "Its as simple as that". Oh exactly! This story always gets me too since I was in a similar situation but I was the parent. My child’s father died when my daughter was only 8 mos old. He has a very narcissistic mother who apparently, planned from the get-go to take my daughter from me. After my mother passed away, I had to live with her and she invited us there. It’s just a long story but basically, she prepared an entire case against me and made up a bunch of lies and took me to court on an emergency guardianship hearing and told them she didn’t know where I lived and I never received the subpoena, so of course I didn’t show up. In fact, the day of the hearing, I was at her home with my daughter who had stayed home from school sick and I was doing house work for the woman cuz she asked me to! Yeah! Then, 2 days later, I get a paper from the court AT HER ADDRESS saying I lost custody and as soon as she got the check, she kicks me out so of course, then I’m homeless! Little white innocent grandma. Boo hoo. I have a documented history of drug use so of course I’m screwed, EVEN THOUGH THE WOMAN ABUSES PILLS AND DRINKS HALF A GALLON OF WINE A NIGHT! I make all of these known, but since she has a prescription for the medication, I can’t very well prove to them that I know she’s buying them from one of her friends RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY DAUGHTER. Sick. So I end up back in treatment and in a shelter just proving my sobriety. And ALL ALONG…. I AM WATCHING MY DAUGHTER ALONE AND AT HER HOME AND EVEN TELLING THEM THIS BUT NOT ONCE DID SHE GET CHECKED ON!!! So, yeah- that part DEFINITELY hit home for me!!! It took me 2 freakin years and an expensive attorney but I FINALLY got her back. The hoops I had to jump thru were absolutely ridiculous! So, when I of all people heard what happened to this poor auntie and those innocent kids, it broke my heart! And you’re absolutely 100% right…. Why was little old white granny not getting checked into - EVEN THOUGH I LITERALLY TOLD THE SOCIAL WORKER! I told her that my daughter was sick and I was staying with her and she acted surprised like, “Childcare is her grandmother’s responsibility. I don’t understand????” And I literally told her that woman has absolutely no interest in my child’s well-being and clearly whatever she said about me was a lie! Cuz here I am! And here I will continue to be cuz she’s my child and I love her! No “check ins” for Grammy tho! (I read her e-mails to the lady and she absolutely WAS just saying wild stuff about me, but NO ONE CHECKED. The system is broken and they absolutely judge people based on race, age and the like.

I hope the family goes after the people/system who were supposed to protect those kids. I hope the mandated reporters who knew what was going on and did nothing, are no longer allowed to be in a position that involves anyone vulnerable because they are just as bad the "parents" who adopted them to feed their ego by abusing and murder them when they were not happy with results of their abuse. Maybe if case workers/ other mandated reporters who did nothing, gets charged with willful neglect and criminal abandonment which resulted in murder and had to receive punishment for their role in the matter, things will start to change. Idk I don't have answers, but I do know if anyone showed up at 2 am, crying and panicked enough to jump from 2nd story window just to get away, knowing full well if they get caught..that it may result in a situation that even the fear of a compound fracture is not worst thing that may happen that night...hell the abuser is gonna have to call the cops cause I'm gonna throw down with all of my five cast iron skillets and I bite. That kid ain't going anywhere unless I'm dead or arrested and by then I've already called for backup ( I got more than a few friends who would also risk life and limb to protect an abuse victim) and started cooking so I hope they've prepared for war. And I expect nothing less from anyone I willingly keep in my life. Anything less would just be unacceptable.

I felt so bad for her the bio Aunt. She had everything fixed up, the rooms and it was one mistake. One and to take them and adopt them out when I think there was a better way to handle that. I get their mom want supposed to be there but I just think there was a better way to handle it than to remove the kids and adopter me out. They had a family who wanted them. There had to have been a better way to deal w that esp for the kids cos I do think it was in the best interest of the kids to stay w her and I’m their family unit. The mother also from what I understood had a drug problem. That can be helped. This whole thing really upset me. I would wake up every morning and look for updates. So wanted some of them to have ran off. This case really really got to me. And I still feel like there’s so much we do t know. There’s sonothing just very off about this couple clearly but …I don’t know it seems like they were hiding more, but hiding what they did hide is bad enough. The Jennifer woman seems like a drunk and I wondered at one point if Sarah wasn’t being abused as well. Not that it would excuse anything. I just wondered bc it seems like Jennifer was controlling and i read she got her degree and the other didn’t, but she was made to take the abuse charge. Why? Wouldn’t that effect her ability to get a teaching job. Why did she never get one. I’ve worked retail before. It tone off my longest job. It isn’t paying bills and it’s thankless and you stand all day and Christmas is ruined. But you can barely care for the two of them with those wages and the Jennifer was drunk at home all day not homeschooling. Granted they had all the money from those kids so, there’s that. Not like it was being used on them. It sounds awful. I mean they had no beds.

If you watch the HBO documentary done about the incident called “There’s Something Wrong with Aunt Diane” you’ll see the similarities. They couldn’t allow them to be happy! This was unbelievably heartbreaking! They were hugely let down by so many people. God bless the man who phoned the police x

Thank you for validating abandonment issues Emma. My sister and I were fostered for 9 years. On a random weekday, our foster parents resigned with no reason and didn’t say goodbye. Never seen them since and really impacted my little sister who was only 15 at the time. She went to school and never returned home again. 😢

Personally I believe they found out Devonte was sneaking food and how. They "punished" him and he died. I don't know what they did with his body but I think that was the catalyst for all of them dying. They knew the neighbors would miss Devonte and saw no way out. I think it speaks volumes that the neighbors thought there were only 4 kids. I cannot imagine the regret and pain the neighbors father felt when he learned what they had done. RIP all 6 beautiful children. Rot in hell so called adoptive parents. I've been a foster/adoptive parent for 30years. This hurt.

The fact that Devante's body was never found leads me to think that the women found out that he had been going to the neighbour's house for food and in turn killed him, maybe they didn't mean to kill him, perhaps they were going to try and cover it up but realised the neighbours knew everything already so they decided to annihilate the rest of the family. I wouldn't be surprised if Devante's body was still on the property they owned or he was put somewhere on their way to the cliff.

Emma, again an excellent review, I was brought up in care and not allowed to see my own family it is so heart ripping, the sexual abuse and emotional abuse was terrible. I used to hide food in my wardrobe which I think is common, I would always get a beating for this. I believe if I had been allowed contact with my siblings or extended family the abuse would have been highlighted. My trauma happened in the 1970s and nobody really cared then, the attitude was ' you should be glad that someone wants you'. In the UK you had a medical once a year but get this, there was 6 weeks warning, and during this six week waiting phase the parents can really win you over and thus you would forget about the past with the hope that this new kind phase was how it would be for ever on.

I do find it interesting when you mentioned that sometimes it may not be the best thing to adopt a child out of your ethnic group. I was a Korean born orphan who was adopted by a Dutch (white) immigrant family who immigrated to Canada. I came to this family when I was a month shy of two years of age. I grew up being physically and emotionally abused. My adopted father said racial slurs to me constantly so that I grew up hating my ethnicity. While I agree with you there are white parents who adopt children of a different ethnic background who are wonderful and loving parents, I never experienced that love and support. I will always believe I was adopted so that my adoptive parents could show their community (church and community club) what wonderful people they were for adopted this "poor, unfortunate orphan". After many years of therapy (and 3 suicide attempts) I have come out on the other side and married and have 3 amazing children who I would die before I treat them they way I was treated.

I'm so sorry you went through that. I was adopted within my race, but I never had the same mentality and I was neurodivergent in a neurotypical family. Also belittled, othered, abused. But I cannot imagine the added weight of being taken from your culture, being reminded you don't belong by simply looking in the mirror. Having your ethnicity used as an insult when you are just a child, learning about yourself and the world. People who grow up with their families don't understand how important cultural and biological roots are. I do know that, so my heart breaks for you, and for the little child in you that deserved the world but instead suffered by the hands of sick, broken people 💔 I'm so glad to hear you're still here. You're not alone. I'm also a mum and moving on. It's all we can do. Much love xo

You two have been given awful circumstances but taken EXACTLY what you should from it. Right now pat yourselves on the back for being the ones to not only break the cycle but raise children who can thrive without interruption from day one. No one should be pressured to be grateful for being adopted. No child deserves less than an environment of love and safety to grow up in. The fact that you didn’t have that for yourselves but give it to your children shows that nothing was ever wrong with you in the first place. You’re doing life how it needs to be done. You can be proud of that.

I'm sorry for what you experienced, also Plamodon Works. I plan to adopt or foster in the future & have no problems with taking an older child or teenager. It wouldn't matter to me what the child's race was but, living in a very non ethnically diverse area, I don't know if I'd be the best person to take a child of colour, for example. I would strive to further educate them on their culture, which I'd want them to be aware of, identify with & be proud of; I wouldn't want a child to feel that they'd been wrongly placed & stuck out because of their cultural heritage. My priority is what is best for a child who needs a home. I want to do them justice & provide everything they need.

They wouldn't give the kids up because of the money, but also because giving up parental rights to the kids meant surrendering control over them. I had an aunt and uncle who adopted a whole bunch of kids. They were white, and all the kids were black or Asian. They were essentially starved, they were extremely skinny. Like this family, it was all about their image and they had a million photographs. They were homeschooled just like these kids, and deeply religious. Turns out that my uncle (not by blood) was a molester. He never really served any substantial amount of time, he left to god-knows-where, and my aunt continued to adopt kids as a way to make ends meet. Watching this family brings back a lot of memories of my dysfunctional aunt and uncle and their twenty kids.

He tried his best to be heard for those children and get them some help but it fell on deaf ears unfortunately. Why does this keep happening. I know first hand of how frustrating this can be. Lessons are never learnt … this type of crime is happening on a regular basis … these children were grossly failed by so many and yet it continues. Why ??? When alerted to suspected abuse and neglect of children these so called professional bodies need to start getting their act together. Its bad enough many children have care givers who are monsters without the system failing them too. 😢. RIP beautiful children. I am so sorry so many people let you down.

I also wonder if anyone has explored the possibility that the Hart women sexually abused one or more of these children? And perhaps that was one reason they ended their lives, because one of the children was going to report it, OR they thought someone had found out; and they couldn't cope with the potential downfall so they planned out the murder suicide. I also feel certain disgust towards the hippie friends who saw the children and didn't recognize they were malnourished and underweight. I could tell that just from seeing their photographs! And their friends still defend these horrible women.
