Brief explanation.
Local police helicopter (which i thought i missed but you'll see at 9:00 minutes arriving just as the A380 started to depart. This caused the A380 to abort its departure ( i presume because of the wind vortex it would create) I missed the go arounds due to concentrating on the ground movements. Birmingham Airport is mainly a one in one out Airport so for us locals this was quite an event seeing so much ground traffic go arounds etc at one time. Hope this explanation helps 👍✈👍

@@speedbird0094 - Hey, it's a pleasure! I enjoy watching aircraft movements, and this was a particular day when things didn't quite go according to plan! Of course, your own list of aircraft types helped me considerably in my listing! Your photography and camera equipment are excellent, and I know it's not always easy to cover all the shots all the time, because circumstances and relative positions change. I really appreciate your feedback. I'll look out for more of your output, and would be happy to put timestamps on future shows as and when I catch up with them. Good luck with your channel, and you must be encouraged that this particular show attracted 1,750,000 views... remarkable! 😀William

Regarding the Follow-Me / Ops vehicles. Birmingham, like most airports hosting Code F (aka Code VI) operations will have trail vehicles during taxi and takeoff. The vehicles help monitor Main Landing Gear to Pavement Edge distances and turning radius, and perform real-time inspection for damaged infrastructure (lights, signage, pavement, etc.) and debris blown onto runway by jet blast. Runway inspection typically not required following landing as only A380 inboard engines have thrust reversers.

Rolls may make a good engine but their maintenance is shite. Twice now Qantas has had engines explode to Roll's substandard maintenance practices, once in Nov. 4, 2010 and another on May 20, 2017. The first was due to cross threading a stub oil pipe and the latter due to corrosion of fan blades caused by improper cleaning procedures.

Lots of carriers have got A380 out of mothballs. Have flown Emirates A380s about 8 times and their business class is great. Fold flat seat that's wide enough to turn over in. The side seats are staggered at an angle, so no legs to climb over when getting to the Loo. The bar at the rear for drinks and snacks, love the plane. There has been a few comments about the cars. But every arrival and departure ive seen they have been there. The wind vortex created by the 380 would definitely have been a factor. Maybe the helicopter was low on fuel and couldn't wait ? But appreciate your comment and taking time to watch 👍😊

@@speedbird0094 We will know what happened as there will be an official report on the incident. The helo pilot is a professional and would not simply bust his ATC clearance at a major airport and barge into the runway area without a clearance. So either he misunderstood his clearances limit, or was erroneously so cleared by ATC. Or the A380 commenced T/O without a clearance (highly unlikely in my book). I don't think you are familiar with how aviation works if you think the helo pilot appeared to everyone's surprise because he was short of fuel. Like I said, it just does not work like that, If it did, it would lead to accidents.not mere incidents. If you were a pilot, you would know that. And if you were a pilot, I would not be having to waste time explaining this basic stuff.

Wow. Calm down bro. The helicopter didn't appear out of nowhere. Its based there. Its the local police helicopter and had been on a call out for some time. Maybe ATC maybe the 380 pilot but until we see any report we shall just have our own opinions. I have never said I was an expert in these matters. I just love planes and filming them. I live under the flight path from Birmingham, have flown from there, but it's still amazing how busy it is. I first visited in my teens, 50 years ago, when it was still known as Elmdon, and the solitary building and flight tower were on the other side of the site. There were a handful of flights a day, we were meeting someone from Düsseldorf. Just seeing an airplane was an event back then. I saw the helicopter, thought it was a drone at first, it was so tiny. Wonder why it was there? Seems irresponsible to try to land at the airport with some many alternative landing sites

@@speedbird0094 If the helo had been a flight emergency the A380 would have been held until the helo had landed. @@speedbird0094 Thank you for your continued thoughts on this. The two vehicles where moving at a fast pace left to right directly behind an A380 at take off power, that breaks all the procedures of driving to the rear of turbofan engines under high power each engine is pushing 72,000lbs of thrust X 4. As stated the second vehicle hesitated briefly before continuing on. As an airside driver, and your stream illustration shows any one would question this procedure. Does BHX airside operations do a runway inspection on all A380 arrivals and departures?. Anyone working airside and holds airside driving permit, would question that decision to drive behind the worlds largest and most powerful commercial airplane.
