All done because the camera is there, it would normally go something like this. Captain: Right, are we gonna get going or not? Co-pilot: Hang on bro, let me finish my cigarette. Tower: You are clear for take off, and dont forget the duty frees I asked about Captain: Hows the plane? Co-pilot: seems ok, it was ok when we landed yesterday, right, I'm done lets go boss man Captain: Turn that radio off its annoying, hold my beer, ok hang on to ya seat baby....yeeeee haa!! 😊

@Southboundpachyderm
@Southboundpachyderm Місяць тому
@@daphnesuarez5924 Lol not really. Back then you were more likely to get highjacked and end up with a free flight to cuba. Air travel, while disasterous for the environment is safer and quicker now than it ever was then. Back then they still had to compete with Regional Rail lines until they had the money to just fuck over the rail lines and make those all so slow and expensive to use. Flight sucks now for the same reason traffic sucks and for the same reason why putting another lane on the road doesn't actually make traffic better, it does the exact opposite and makes traffic worse. Same thing applies to air travel. There's so much of it happening these days that you're literally flying maybe a thousand or so feet of elevation away from intersecting air traffic. Air travel back then was a fuck of a lot more dangerous due to lack of regulations, though with the amount of deregulation that the airlines have lobbied for, we are returning to the days of planes just falling apart in the air and pilots refusing to fly them. A big problem these days is a lack of pilots too. Since pilots get treated like meat market supervisors and paid like ass for the amount of time they spend away from home, they are struggling to get more pilots to fill spots. Airlines are honestly the problem, but in general air travel is insane and we need to kill off regional flights if we expect to ever improve how long it takes to get across the country. Rail lines are the unironic solution. Less cars, less air traffic, more rail lines. Better for the world, faster travel because you have 1 driver with 100s of people on it, and imo is way more fun than getting crammed on the little shit box planes they force us on these days. Flying is something I love to do, but its gotten to be miserable the more they crunch space to fit more fat fucks on the planes.

@@SailProMarina I am not even close of being a pilot but I am an enthusiast of aviation, if Im not wrong it helps to stabilize the elevator depending on yor actual speed so the pilot not needing to be pushing or pulling the yoke constantly, if you watch closely his left thumb during the ascent, everytime he move it the black and white wheel makes a lap, after he activates the autopilot (auto-thrust) is the computer wo makes this small changes in the yoke.

It was a really Humpy fly. Never was afraid though the Plane was rocking. Actually, I was more afraid of sailing out of the Barnegat Bay NJ Inlet, because the waves really had the boat rocking.

I watch a lot of plane crash videos, and in several the primary cause of the crash was the failure to perform one or more checklists prior to takeoff. In at least two, the flaps were not set for takeoff so the plane couldn't climb. So, I appreciate watching you go through the checklists.

Pilot induced turbulence is a real thing. While there is some validity to hand flying to keep your skills sharp it seems to me any hand flying above 10,000 isn’t about professionalism but narcissism.
@DeanMcCain
@DeanMcCain 4 місяці тому
@jbraunger why narcissism? You do realize sometimes pilots are forced to hand fly because for whatever reason the autopilot isn't working, right (although I believe this would only be for the one flight as maintenance would have to look at why the autopilot isn't working once the plane reaches its destination).
@jbraunger
@jbraunger 4 місяці тому
So you are suggesting the autopilot was MEL’d? What is to be gained hand flying above 10,000 feet? Narcissism is obvious when the pilot is choosing a method that creates a worse ride for the passengers to show off for a video. A true professional would let the autopilot do a better job and let their co-pilot relax.
@DeanMcCain
@DeanMcCain 3 місяці тому
@jbraunger surprisingly the autopilot can break (wow who knew?). And I don't think there is a pilot out there who on purpose decides to hand fly it above 10000 feet unless absolutely necessary.
@jbraunger
@jbraunger 3 місяці тому
So you’re suggesting the pilot in this video is flying a plane with an inoperative autopilot eh? Hmm I don’t see a sticker showing it is MEL’d. And there are lots of pilots who hand fly above 10,000 feet. And they are all narcissists who “love to fly” and ignore passengers. Sorry but I’m not impressed. All pilots are capable of hand flying the plane but the good ones don’t. They let the autopilot fly the plane and manage the aircraft instead.

I love aviation videos. I have noticed that even as a native American English speaker I can barely understand the instructions over the radio from the flight controllers. I cannot imagine being a non-native English speaker and trying to understand what the heck they're saying.

A few months ago I flew on a Max -8 for the first time...I was amazed how quickly we got to rotate speed. I thought I was on an Airbus...great job hand flying the plane through all that turbulence. Keep the blue side up gents. Shalom

I think he mentioned speed but once he'd put flaps up could it have been with turbulence, how big is Toronto airport there seems to be runways all over the place
