I love this yacht and think the exterior and interior is beautiful and elegant. I love that it looks like a yacht. Too many super yachts look like cruise ships or ferries. The operating and maintenance costs are the killer but to be expected. That being said this would be my dream yacht. 🥰

The problem with the M/Y ACE is, almost solely, its layout. An 85m/278'10" yacht with only 4 guest cabins makes this yacht hard to own if you like to take people on multi-day cruises to party and unwind. And the apparent need for a support vessel (seen in many panoramic shots of ACE with tenders and toys) makes the operating costs of ACE for a potential first time buyers prohibitive. If anyone has watched the yacht walk through with the ships captain, you'll know he explicitly states that it was build for a very experienced yacht owner. But any other buyer that is experienced, and has the money to buy Ace, with its support vessel, would most likely decide to purchase a new bespoke yacht from a ship builder instead.

Boats of this level are amazing, but I don’t care how rich you are, it takes a special kind of tool-bag to buy something like this to use a couple times a year.

the support ship was for the tenders/toys. A lot of boats are put up for sale as soon as they are finished.

I love the fit, finish and materials used but I pretty much hate all the furniture and decore in the common areas.

A support vessel carries the mother yaghts toys ,soo extra tenders ,jetskies,helicopter operations can be performed there instead of the mother ship soo you are wrong it dosent offer any technical support ace would have her own engineer onboard it and so would the shadow vessel.

Only 1.x Billionaire and buy a 200+ Mio Yacht? That sounds wrong to me, the yacht is clearly over his horizon. A yacht should never cost more then 3-5% of your portfolio. With 20% it's to much, hard to afford then.

It will be bid down from $137M as that price is negotiable. Whoever buys it will be extremely lucky. A very smart man who did not read his adversaries correctly. When you build something so bespoke to your tastes, you're going to take a hit when selling it. Not only the money for changing it, but time and aggravation.

It may not be that the owner has no money problems at all. It is very normal for owners of huge yachts to sell them and build a new one. The actual price of Ace is $160 million not $137 million.

Ace is no doubt a beautiful yacht but it isn't the best yacht in the world. It was sold for the same reason all magayachts are sold. The owner simply wanted something else.
