Ahh one of the first breakout boards we ever made for sale at Adafruit is the ADXL345 - such a classic triple-axis from ADI! This ol' girl could do with a makeover, so we're re-doing the board as a Stemma QT compatible. Now it will be plug-and-play for any platform for rock-solid reliable accelerometer data over I2C or SPI. Thanks Analog Devices!

Stick to 0603 and above and it's not to difficult. Below 0603 you will need a scope and a very steady hand.

Remarkable. I solder custom battery packs for a living and build drones as a hobby but i cant imagine working on something this small. Very skilled and so cool.

I caught that too but it seemed to fall into place, like it was propped up on solder and dropped down but didnt move laterally.

Wait what? You can use a plastic card for a smd stencil? Mine always leave small shavings and mess up the soldering after. I had to resort to a very small and flexible peace of metal but it's hard to get the dosage right with that!

Yep, usually you can just order them together with your pcb's so it makes it easier to apply the solder paste. They are called smd stencils and cost roughly 10 bucks for one depending on the manufacturer

Typically you can also have them populate an solder the board for a little extra

Nah these are prototypes, made in small batches. If you need to make them in mass quantities, machines make them!

Cause it's ez xD and you usually have left over b stock or from a previous prototype that didn't work out.
