She is not aggressive towards other animals, provided that, as you say, they are not dominant and that they mind their own business. She doesn't like being disturbed. With the cat Machi she is very patient at the moment but I think because she knows that it is the house cat, a member of the family. The cat harasses her with constant ambushes. Mica looks at us and I think she wants to ask us "how soon will you leave me alone?" However, every morning Mica comes to kiss everyone, my husband, me and even the cat! just a kiss! how sweet!

@@akitadog_ragdollcat_micamachi that is great! They are such an amazing breed. I've been a dog owner since I was a little boy, more than 40 years of having a dog in my life. I found the American Akita breed kinda by accident and am so happy that I did. Our Akita, Dexter, is 2 now and my best buddy. We also have a 9 year old female golden and the two dogs couldn't be more opposite, lol. But they get on just fine because she's much smaller than him and in no way dominant in her behaviors. And she was already an adult and part of the family when he joined us, I'm sure that helped, too.

@@akitadog_ragdollcat_micamachi my male akita (he was not neutered) was one of the gentlest dogs I have ever known. I don't know if I just got lucky or if it was the socialization as a puppy. I used to carry him to my college classes tucked under my sweatshirt, and he would sleep in class and pop his head up once in a while under my chin. eventually the professors thought he was too much of a distraction but I had a lot of friends who were eager to play with him while I was in class, and I took him to the dog park frequently as a puppy to play with other dogs, as well as having him play with my friend's chihuahua a lot. By the time he was an adult, he was just about the opposite of what you expect from an akita. The only issue was that sometimes other large dogs would attack him, although he would just ignore them or put his paw on their necks and bring them down to the ground, but he never bit anyone or any dog in this 14 and a half years. I just lost him yesterday to sudden bloat that happened overnight, although he was suffering from GOLPP that led to hind leg paralysis that got worse over a year or so until he could barely stand up by himself. They are the most wonderful dog breed, both affectionate and aloof at the same time somehow.

@@steveparish4209 hiii as I see you grew with pets.Can you help me regarding pets because I haven't had dogs before.I watched online videos and read online forums where dogs attack their owners.Also my friends say that yes dogs will or may be attack owners but if that happens getting attacked by small dogs may not be very serious but when it comes to large dog breeds like Akita or Cane corso it can very serious.So how does people still own those big dogs knowing they may attack them.Or can it be avoided?I admire large dogs and thinking of getting one

I also had other pairs of dog and cat before but they didn't play as much as Mica and Machi. It can be said that they never get bored! 🐕🐈😀

Our akita is very quiet and she is friendly with family and friends. But with strangers you have to keep an eye on her. You have to be careful! She is very suspicious. When she was little, we did many training courses with her. She is obedient now but still an akita😉🤍🤍🤍
