I believe they stuck to the current model bc it allows them to be as professional as they want and be able to manipulate timing exactly as they want. As they bring new people on to present over the years, it’s hard to get that person calm enough to present well. I remember just bf the pandemic, how one of the presenters got so nervous and we could easily hear it in his voice, distracting from the info being delivered.

it was like the most calming, chilling, relaxing ios version imo. slow animations, small screen, flat design, colorful and vibrant

there's actually a lot, however, it was not that groundbreaking since most of the updates are now for quality of life. Compared back then when the iPhone was new and they need to add a lot of features that would make the iPhone a mini computer
