I thought Smith was the one with more room for improvement given his lack of a long amateur career, but man Beterbiev showed his improvement. Just amazing. I hope Smith is healthy and doesn’t give up his boxing career.

That punch wasn't on the temple it was on the side of the head above the ear. This guy's the strongest LHW in history. Anywhere on the head he hits you he can cause serious damage. This is why fighters should fear him because you can't protect yourself against that kind of freakish power. The man is dangerous

Today was the first fight I’ve ever watched live. Wow. I mean you couldn’t tell the difference between Smith Jr. and a punching bag.

I know it would be a knock out and perhaps also within 6 rounds, since they are both not defensively found fighters. But I never expect it would be that fast. This is a improved and reloaded version of Berbetiev. If he was from the US or UK he would have been pound for pound number 1 and a huge star in boxing. The point is he is not an entertainer who can smack and talk like Fury or an idol and someone where people can relate to like Joshua. Canelo is a brand and also promoted well. This guy is so underrated. He is a puncher with boxing skills. If Wilder was like this also with the power he would have been the best ever.

After watching Bivol and Beterbiev fight Smith Jr... I think Beterbiev is definitely the favorite since he's a knock monster with 100% KO and seeing how Smith went down within two rounds is astonishing. Watching Bivol landing combos on Smith is cool, but Beterbievs punches are just too powerful.

Holy Cow! I knew Beterbiev was good but he's freakin scary good. Top 3 pound for pound. He has power, technique and knows how to set up his shots and he literally punches through the target. I hope and pray Smith is OK; he took a massive beating in 5 min. He's a likeable decent fella so let's hope he comes out of hospital healthy. I can see Bivol outboxing him for a few rounds but 'Biev will catch him and likely KOs him just like Gvodzyk late. He puts Canelo to sleep, within 4-5 rounds...I mean coma sleep. Canelo would duck him of course. Also Ward knew that 'Biev would be bad news and retired avoiding him. Bring on Bivol..can't wait.

Beterbiev was always the higher calibre fighter here. He’s not just all power. He has genuine boxing acumen. Smith Jnr is game and seemingly a lovely person, but he always had a punchers chance in this one.

The thing about beterbiev that is scary is that he generates so much power without widely swinging shots, everything is tight, precise, and not telegraphed. Him and naoya inoue are similar. Everything is tight and technical, but there is still tons of power behind it.

This was like watching a pro vs and amateur, that was the difference in levels between AB and JS. They could fight another 100 times, and the result would always be the same. Very good stoppage by the ref. JS didn't actually hit the canvas, so he could have let the fight continue, but the ref saved him from some totally unnecessary punishment. I don't mean to be mean about JS, he has a good chin and a big heart. But the difference in skills was plain to see. It was like a Ferrari against a ford focus.

18 fights 18 KO's. What a solid devastating fighter. Canelo would get knocked out within 4 rounds against this guy.
