I once worked for a week in a zinc smelter where we poured pure zinc ingots of up to one tonne. In one shift from 6 am to 2 pm with a half hour break, 5 days a week. When I see the video here and my work, there is no comparison. Occupational safety alone is very important to us. The people in the video don't have anything except gloves. We already had to wear work shoes on the site, work trousers and a work shirt. In addition, as a foundry team, we wore a helmet with a visor, then a large apron and a thick leather apron over it. Then we had to wear hearing protection and special oven gloves. We used overhead cranes and forklifts to transport the ingots. The ingots were shaped so that they could be stacked on top of each other with a forklift.

I have been working for 13 years at a very large metallurgical plant, which produces a huge number of different components for various equipment. I started out loading forges, then I was a foundry worker, and now I specialize in processing parts for coal mine equipment. Colleagues periodically complain that our technologies are outdated, our digitally controlled machines are not the most advanced. It’s not like abroad, there it is, it’s high-tech, everything is modern there. I will definitely show them this video, let them know that to this day people use technologies from the early twentieth century in metallurgy. I'll see what they say to this.

На самом деле всё не так уж плохо. Если не брать в расчёт технику безопасности то нужно всего лишь 3 вещи что бы это колено было более менее полноценным. 1) При литье нужно всё таки сначала сделать хотя бы спектральный анализ что бы хоть примерно понимать какой суп получился. По стружке видно что это чугун, я не металлург но по моему углерода слишком много в составе, лишняя хрупкость ни к чему. 2) Шейки под вкладыши нужно научиться подкаливать. Печь же есть индукционная, значит с электричеством всё в порядке, можно использовать индукцию, а можно и трением. 3) Балансировать как не крутись всё равно надо, и желательно не абы как.

I think i found the reason some engines can go thousands of hours and some are continuously riddled with problems. I’m always surprised that they don’t pay attention to their material blends they just chuck whatever trash they have at the moment

Может нас чему другому учили в училищах на автомехаников?! 1.почему масленые каналы не сообщаются и нет пробок на щеках кв? 2.Не увидел термическую обработку шеек вала,каторая производится нагреванием токами высокой частоты,с последующим охлаждением, в результате закалки получается структура мартенсита закалки на глубину 2-3 мм. После такой закалки вал подвергается отпуску нагреванием в камерной печи при 200°С в течение двух часов. 3.балгаркой стачивать металл и потом не отправить на повторную поверку/корректирвку баланса ?! Где это всё?! Ещё раз убеждаюсь,эти видео для накручиванич лайков не более

I don't know what country you are from, but I see that you are very skilled. If your government has a good vocational training policy and is equipped with modern equipment, you can surely make many excellent products. I really admire you guys.

The workmanship and skill is amazing, the actual working conditions are absolutely horrid. No protective footwear, ear protection or eyewear, open belts and machinery everywhere, dirty and dusty workplace, manual lathes to mention a few. I have only seen crankshaftproduction irl once, and it was at a visit at the Volvo truck engine factory in Sweden, it was very different. Super clean environment and of course heavily automated, obviously a lot faster production as well. Seeing this is like going back in time. I guess Swedens work and safety laws and pakistans differ a lot... 😅

Unreal ! Amazing results from what appears to be squalid conditions, no safety gear, no steel-toed boots, no gloves, no safety glasses, and even wearing loose clothing around dangerous rotating machines ! Bravo to these brave workers !

Very experienced. Highly appreciate the craftsmanship and absolute stellar passion. Too risky and horrible work conditions and that’s horrible and not ok, but 100 times more craft and passion for each piece than a modern factory. Great great job men.

Well done. And also how they carefully remove all the impurities and the slag from the molten steel, before pouring it into the molds. Great job! (The extensive use of PPE, and careful attention to safety, is also noteworthy).

Я в шоке! Чугун, судя по стружке, аналогичен СЧ40. Кто из него коленвалы делает? Такой вал годится разве что для очень слабеньких чих-пыхов, а не для нормальных двигателей! Он просто развалится на кусочки! Нужна ковка с серьезной термообработкой!

One of the things that surprises me is how they are constantly putting these rather heavy crankshafts on the ground, then picking them up again. It's easier or cheaper for them to have their workers use their backs to pick these heavy crankshafts up and put them down than to just buy them a few freakin' tables to set them on. These guys are going to have wrecked backs someday because someone wanted to save a few bucks on a table.

Here in the UK ra lister made a single cyl engine started at 2.5 hp in the 1920s and rose to the diziing heights of 6hp by the eighties all at 650 rpm. India started to copy these engines I had a customer in Syria who started to buy them from India after a few years he came to me and asked for used crankshafts because the cranks from in India didn't last 5 minutes . These old engines produced by Listers in the UK sold by the thousands and went all over the world I have even seen 1930 models still running. Whatever happened to this country. There are many UKposts video on this engine

37 years as a mechanic, every time I worked on a Massey Fergusson tractor, the parts man insisted on knowing if it was an India tractor or a U.K. tractor, the parts were quite similar, but not all were interchangeable. The tractor has been made in India for some time, don't know if this is an official supplier or just replacement parts, but both tractors have a good service record. One company I worked for had one U.K. tractor and one India tractor and they both did a lot of work. Many hours, different operators, hard usage and one didn't break down any more than the others. Most of the maintenance had to do with pressure relief valve replacement, and replacing drive collars that had sheared due to overload. It is quite likely that Mahindra is a variant of "we build Massey, we copy Massey" type technology.

I liked the video and watched them melting scrap steel for the crankshafts. How do they know they get the proper steel and alloys for the desired steel hardness and properties? I also watched large gear manufacturing and they used all sorts of just scrap steel to melt down.

I just love how every part of the process is executed with the utmost care and painstaking precision.
