This is another reason why Heidi Klum should NEVER EVER be a judge. She's a model and what the hell does she know about entertainment. It's like putting Mel B or Howie and judge a beauty pageant or fashion. It's out of their element. With all the successful entertainers that are out there you mean to tell me they can't get someone to replace Heidi Klum's spot as a judge?!? I think the show would be so much better and it'll even raise the show's level. Cause frankly in my opinion that Heidi doesn't know good talent from bad talent.

Late for a comment, but Stern may be incorrect. The focus is the boys playing cellos. A singer would have pulled the focus away. A slow song and chorus was a great thought. But that's just what I think. I'm the type that sometimes blocks out singers and listens to just the music.
@spartanspeedruns83868 років тому
I can watch this over and over again. I am so bummed that they didn't win the whole thing, they deserved it. I think going contemporary in this one was perfect, I'm so disappointed America didn't understand that.

I like that these guys are humble and polite. They took what many would consider a criticism and took it seriously. Also, I don't think this song was that safe of a choice, it's just not fast and up-beat like the others. I don't think they need a lead singer either, but, it would have maybe done them some good to have played a song that doesn't have lyrics.
@matthewhunter72736 років тому
FOUR Thumbs!!!! These Guys have amazed me since America's Got Talent. But now that they are so well know the element of surprise wears off... What DOESN'T wear off, or wear out, Is Their Passion for the music, Their Incredible Talent & Skills, Now as I watch them becoming superb performers these guys left any "Novelty Act" feeling behind long ago. surprise was the hook... but once they Have your attention They never let it go. I can't remember when The Old Legends Sounded so New & Full of Life...Thanks Guys You Truly Rock!!!!!!

@RustyDust1019 років тому
Yes, it was a shame that they got voted out. They have too much talent to be voted out. But it was their choice to play one of the slower Aerosmith songs, AND they included a background choir. In my eyes that was their greatest mistake (and Heidi was right about that). As others have said before on the other youtube videos which featured these two talented young men: singers detract from the attention on the two cellos. They are so talented they don't need a front singer, nor do they need a background choir. They (like 2Cellos) have seen that the cello has been correctly categorised as *the* classical instrument which most easily conforms to a human voice. Therefore it is the perfect choice to emulate the harmonics of the singer's track in a rock piece. They should have stuck with their basic idea of being the central attraction: two cellists who play rock music. Look at what 2Cellos did and continue to do. They don't add singers normally. When they do such as in their rendition of Muse's 'Supermassive Black Hole' they get bad criticism for it. Why? Simple: they are not the main attraction any more. Also, as a tiny admonition: don't blow away your hottest performances before the finals. Keep something really 'ball-busting' for the end, especially in a contest. It's what other great performers do in concerts. A ballad by Aerosmith isn't bad, not in the least. I personally like them a great deal. But it does not incite the same feet-stomping, hands-waving atmosphere as some of your other performances. If you want to slow down an audience you play something romantic, with a slower tempo such as this song. If you want to get the audience to get on their feet and get really riled up, play something with a greater tempo and rhythm. I would have preferred the guys playing something like 'Walk this way (talk this way)', or even 'Janie's got a gun', if you wanted to stay with Aerosmith.' So to Emil and Dariel: you two are still awesomely talented, no matter what some judges think of you. Go on playing the cellos; play them with gusto, verve, style, and so many more positive, emphatic expressions. You don't need front singers or background choirs. They detract from you as the main attraction. Front-singer-bands are a dime a dozen, even with classical instruments in rock bands. In contrast, cello playing young people who rock out their instruments as the main attraction are rare in the extreme. In the same manner try to keep the number of background instruments low. Otherwise the same detraction will happen. Sometimes less is more. Stupid cliché, right, but still sometimes it's true. Just my two cents; others may (and probably will) disagree. Where I started to get really worked up was when the other judges interrupted Heidi, and continued to interrupt her when she tried to state her point. Why is it that there is no more culture in discussions on TV or the internet? Can't you be civilised enough any more to allow another person their own opinion and allow them to state it freely without being so rude to continue to interrupt them? Maybe if she had been allowed to make her statement uninterrupted she would have come to a point where she would have said something to alleviate her mediocre judgement to a better position. In the same manner that others use hyperbole and other literary measures to state their point more explicitly she *might* have said something so the votes would have been cast a different way. But we won't know, now, won't we? Because some stupid smart-asses had to be so rude to interrupt her continuously. So maybe, just maybe, try to be a teensy bit more polite and allow others their opinions and the freedom to voice them.
@EmilandDariel9 років тому
Just an FYI, contestants do NOT, choose the song, it is given to you by the producers... Hopefully this clears something up :)
@RustyDust1019 років тому
***** Didn't know about the producers deciding on the song. Thanks for the info. I appologize for any grief my comments may have caused. IMO not fair because that skews the competition.
@Rick_Sanchez_C137_9 років тому
***** Producers deciding the music to be played in a competition? Sounds like corruption to me, as bad as the game show corruption in the 1950s. YOU TWO, should have won...that said, I am sure that you will play many big stages in the future; don't let it go to your head or ruin your senses of right and wrong or self.
@HenSt-gz7qj9 років тому
Todd Poulton and that's how Willie Jones got voted out in Britain Got Talent. He had the voice, he had the talent, but the "Producer" pick the wrong song...
@MrJon92as8 років тому
RustyDust101 It wasn't just anyone that went through over them, it was Miguel Dakota, who I thought was a lot worse than them. It was down to those two in the judges choice. While Howard and Howie voted for Emil and Dariel, Heidi and Mel didn't have their heads in their game and were so obsessed with Miguel's look, that they chose him which led to a tie. Therefore, it came down to whoever had more of America's votes, and that went to Miguel and I assume it's because there were a ton of teen girls were just obsessed with Miguel's looks that they put in all 10 votes to Miguel, especially considering the fact that Emil and Dariel were far ahead of Miguel in the Snapple Save voting.

I'm heartbroken, these two should've gone through. The choir needed to be a little bit louder to make it even more magnificent than it already was... but I agree Heidi is a b**ch and probably didn't even know that it was an Aerosmith song when she accused them of not rocking it out. . These two young teens 14-16 deserve ultra success AFTER they finish their educations, and hopefully drugs won't raise their ugly heads.
