In normal circumstances, you can see Fortegreen only for a split second. But if a player joins with a bad internet, they keep the Fortegreen color for a while. Because the player exists but doesn't exist, the system lets the player in the match's playerlist, but not the match itself. If the match starts when the player has Fortegreen, because the player isn't in the match, they don't appear in the rolereveal. They are given their original color in the match itself.

I actually did the same technique where you pretend to go somewhere and the person kills the other person and then when they get out you can just check if they're still alive or not

I once had a “wait what” among us game. I was killed and wasn’t even doing anything that could break it. Like one minute later my body was reported but I wasn’t in in ghost chat even tho I was a ghost. After the meeting I still wasn’t a ghost but I could walk through walls like a ghost. Then I got called out for hacks (even tho I wasn’t) and I still wasn’t a ghost! That is still my most confusing game ever...
