An unofficial statement. It meant that Windows will no longer release major revisions like they once did, and they havent. Nowadays they ship the OS and make improvements/implement features as they go. Before they would do one major release, and whatever was there is what was there.

But macOS is not one of them, it's stable, UNIX based and it's very easy to learn. This is fantastic if you are a general developer. Now that being said... Microsoft genuinely thinks it's gonna excite people and whatnot. They are so out of touch the consumer edition of windows is becoming increasingly unusable without registry tweaks and forceful deletion of features. This is what happens when you are a public company, you have to do the stupid shit investors want you to. Many of my work colleagues in IT are using linux on the side so they can move to it once windows 11 becomes the only supported option. Among my team, almost nobody wants to install that shit on their personal pc.

I love Vista and it's b=very beautiful but I didn't encounter any bugs in my experience.

Vista was way ahead of the hardware. Today, Windows, MacOS and the popular flavors of Linux desktops all look like Vista. I worked very hard to keep my favorite Widgets for years on Windows 7. Vista was a masterpiece of computer UI design. There were lots of bugs on the first release but the only legitimate criticism of Vista, in my opinion, was the change from File Manger to Explorer. Windows hadn't worked out the technical bugs of symbolically linking folders and it led to some catastrophic data losses. I recall, with one update, losing a year's worth of work which I could only partially recover from.

Microsoft can't wait to ignore you clicking away the update prompt. And update anyway.

Microsoft is pretty much just ruled by public investors now, this is why it's getting absolutely worst. If they were a fully private business i don't think they would make garbage decisions like these. The current state of windows, is actually making it easy for valve to make steam OS a good option to enough people that it's gonna impact Microsoft in some way in the future. Valve is a private company, you can see they are not pressured by baboons because they take their time to make things right.

Well, luckily just as MS doing their best to make their product worse, there are many random people working on it too to make it better. I also use some heavily modded win10 and have to say, if you cut out half of it and block the other half, it can be usable, like win7 usable. I probably skip 11, and definetly skip 12, those AI copilot functions just gives me the creeps.

Linux gaming has come a long way. The biggest issue is kernel level anti-cheat. The only thing stopping me from playing path of exile is my 240watt non-standard PSU connectors and the slim tower case my Hp workstation came with. Glorious Eggroll's Nobara linux has been great for the past 2 years since daily driving it. 👍

@@VektrumSimulacrum Even if proton improves very fast, the rest of the linux desktop/laptop experience is lagging behind, Laptops for example have still on average 20-30% less battery life etc.
