So you'll have to take your glasses off to wear it. I prefer VR glasses that don't need that. Granted it's not always convenient but preferred

Most VR headsets require that, especially as they shrink in size.

Though usually you would just use something like Apple Vision Pro's ZEISS magnetic prescription lens inserts to use them for eyeglasses wearers. So, you wouldn't be "wearing" glasses.

So you don’t have to get optical insert but it’s recommended by Apple. In my opinion, all VR headset need optical inserts to have a good experience. Apple just make it kinda mandatory

I'm wondering what the near-term best way to share/view immersive 180 degree video (from the canon r5c dual fisheye, for example) will be, considering there will be no native youtube app on the vision pro. Any ideas?

It will be immersive video a follow my upcoming new workflow to covert it into actually spatial video in 180 3D with parallax - prob need AI gen depth map

Hugh Hou, It's funny how people thought $3,500 was crazy, well they aint seen nothing yet to really get what they may need. Still, what a cool piece of tech. I had one question. I'm looking forward to seeing some possible 180 3D cameras coming out hopefully this year, the Canon one looks promising. I wondered, will you be able to upload those movie files into the Apple Vision Pro and watch them? I know Apple is big on this "Immersion" stuff, which just sounds like a fancy way to say 180 3D, but didn't know if it was the same thing. I think the only reason (besides watching amazing 3D films) I'd get an Apple Vision Pro, would be to watch content I make in 180 3D. The only thing that stopped me from pre-ordering this, was I don't have an Apple device (iPhone or iPad) to do that whole facial scan. Well, Apple lost a pre-order, which I don't think that will hurt their bottom line :P :) Have a great one! vgv

So I will still need to figure out the VR180 spatial video encoding part. If you look at their official demo, the 3D video do look has parallax. They block the 16 by 9 3D video to be 1 to 1 to create the depth movement. So for 180, we will need depth map info (prob AI based) to generate that. It can’t be capture by camera as no VR180 camera has LiDAR info. So it’s too early to know of the exact workflows. When I have the Vision Pro on hand to R&D - then I can. So please wait a bit before you purchase them. Also Google/Samsung SONY all coming out with new VR headsets

This is the same reason I bought the Vision Pro but now I’m considering waiting until Google/Samsung announce theirs. My plan was to create spatial content with the headset and share on YT. But if it’s going to be a pain then it’s not worth the $4000 I spent. I wonder if there will be a new spatial content social media platform to help solve this issue.

I prob keep it! So I can make lots of tutorials. I get it to make tutorials on immersive video for the industry. Apple is key part of the immersive filmmaking industry and I want to help others to navigate the same! I take one for the team so I can be doing research first

what is the best way to consume your 3d videos? Is ir possible to watch them with my quest 3?

All my 3D video can be consume by all 3D able devices - like Quest 3. Most my video should have a watching instruction in the description. Most of them has direct link to Meta Quest TV. You can push it straight onto your VR headset / Quest 3 without doing any extra step.

@@paulct91 they do but I mostly use it for streaming UKposts, watch movies, watch concerts and so. Also I have fast internet and most games don’t have a high replay value. 😊also I work 9 hours per day (4 days in the week) what does not leave a lot of time to use it

Just to point out, Vision Pro will play 8K VR* immersive video - so all videos in theroy double the size. Streaming 8K might be choppy based on what we know on Meta Quest. That’s why space is important. But yes! You can always just stream it! That’s a camera tho, so I will use more to just capturing spatial video

@@hughhou I understand, and I am pretty sure having local videos would be a lot smoother but well with wifi 6 and having your laptop/ computer hardwired should make local streaming fine. It is sad it does not support wifi 6E or 7 though, especially with 7 most streaming should not be an issue anymore. But well I am not a super purest and I just do it for casual watching, so I don’t need to absolute best quality. In your case seeing your line of work, it makes more sense

of course another closed and too expensive system, which is the reason why i never will buy any Apple product. It will of course look, feel and work fine, so many Apple fans will be happy to spend that much money for their toy.
