@@hughhou Yes because the way I would use it is for full 360 video and you are showing real world examples. I just posted a few 360 videos of me playing guitar. I would like to gather a bunch of acoustic musicians around a 360 camera and do other cool stuff with a 360 camera. My 360 camera is old and junky though and I would love to upgrade.

Both. So moving pixels usually compressed in H265. The Codecs sux at encoding fast moving footage. Drone is fine as it is slow but Keeley driving in 60 miles per hours on the road and that is when the footage will break down. So X4 record in HEVC - so quality drop there - and then upload on UKposts is HEVC so drop again. You see higher quality if you have Apple Vision Pro for sideloading the source file. You skip UKposts compression but the camera still have compression there. That is why we want RAW footage always. Canon shoot RAW that is why it is always better in situation like this.

VR Gorillaz I believe shoot at 3D 360 on Pro 2 or Titan. So the bitrate is 10x higher for a professional camera. We shoot with tons camera as well for our regular high end 3D 360 video. So it make prefect sense. The camera quality is nowhere compared to 8K on Pro 2 or Titan still. You can see the quality different.

X3 and X4 dive case is exactly the same just house different camera. So X4 is larger. But I tested it, the image quality and everything is the same. X4 just shoot 8K underwater. The stitching quality is also the same as it coming tho the same dome port

I will show my production workflow soon to solve this problem. It is probably an importing issue.

It can dual to Internet compression on 8K and just not so effective in camera compression in H265. But if you get the chance to see that film in AVP - the face is a lot clearer.

Thank you! That is coming next! It is platform target rendering pipeline I developed. So meaning UKposts VR and Apple Vision Pro will have a different rendering pathway. The AVP looks A LOT BETTER with its high pixels display unit. I will cover all that in great details in my next very nerdy explainer video

The national park NOT allow Kimchi to go in!! B/c he like to chase wildlife and hunt them... He got us in trouble. And he get tired so fast and I need to carry him and the camera. I know X4 is light but Kimchi is not... This video is entire edited in Adobe Premiere not touching any Insta360 software. They kinda silently launch the new Premiere workflow and I have been testing that for them. I will explain more in the next video. It is also all free if you have Adobe. It is very powerful RAW workflow.

@@hughhou discussion you can open in the Davinci Resolve Audio and Sounddesign group. One part Marketing of Insta… did you see their presentation… so cheap made. You was the lucky guy that was not there. Rest did massive ruin their reputation. Insta marketing degrade 360 to a infantile gimmick. By the way your audio is ok. I did took the cam from the to buy list.

Lol you catch my error. That shot I need to patch all people behind us that just looking at us. Just a general good practices and to not put other people in my videos. 360 is. tough. But then I mess up the plate as the camera drift!! Another big problem I will discuss more on this new X4 in the next video now I have TON of editing experience with it in 8K. Lots of post production on it for sure but I will break it down soon. The base is 8K make lots of the work possible tho. The timelapse is 11K and it is crazy stunting. Make me wish I can do more timelapse.

Wait did you set it to 4320P? You need to manually set the highest resolution for 8K video. UKposts default give you very bad quality. Also the real different you need to see it inside Meta Quest 3 or Apple Vision Pro those VR headset.

@@hughhou Yes. It's 8192x4320. And it shows 8k (4320) while watching it on my MacBook ProMax M3 using Chrome. I literally cannot see any difference. Right out of the camera the 360 footage is 7680 × 3840. (I know you know this)...In order to get UKposts to recognize it as 8k, it has to be resized to 8192x4320 or at the very least, 7680x4320. After uploading and waiting for UKposts to finally finish the 8k render, it looks the same as I switch back and forth between 4k/8k while it's playing. Troubleshooting is taking entirely too long do to render times (mainly on UKposts side). Perhaps, I'll start making 10sec clips and playing with settings in Davinci. Straight out of Insta Studio won't produce 4320 files.. I think that is a BIG oversight on their part.

@@davidalanmedia It's definitely uploaded in 8k. I have done a bunch of experiments over the last few days. Takes a long time for UKposts to finally display the 8k version, but once it does...switching between the 4k and 8k versions looks identical on my M3 Max MBPro (in Chrome). I don't have VR goggles unfortunately. 8k video from other cameras displays correctly, it's just the Insta X4 8k 360 footage that's odd. I hope I can figure it out.

Google has intentionally limited their bit player. If you want better quality video viewing, then you must pay them for their higher bit rate players. Google offers freemiums, but their high quality is hiden behind pay walls. Just how Google operates today.

Prob not even they have DNG. DNG does not magically make image quality better and AI can improve something already compressed or not captured. But the good news is, after Insta360 saw this video they are commit to provide DNG in regular and HDR in May. They also working on Theta like HDR bracketing shooting. That is ETA but until now, no one really tell them what the problem is... that is crazy. Now they are gonna fix it.

@@hughhou Yeah, interesting that they didn't get it until it was pointed out to them. I'm not saying .dng makes image quality better but you can make a number of adjustments with .dng that you cannot make in a .jpg. ie. Lightroom Denoise, Topaz Sharpen. With a knowledge of these tools, do you think they can be brought up to a professional quality. Admittedly, I've done some 360 tours with a One X and was able to get pretty good final image with these tools. Also, do you see any difference between manual bracketing and in camera auto HDR?
