Those big beautiful eyes told the story she could not - of how thankful she was - that you saved her life. Her companionship and her compassion - gentle gestures and nudges - all conveyed her love - she sought nothing in return - her silence spoke volumes - of her commitment and loyalty - to a twin eagle man. She was to humans - as a dog is to man - his true best friend. She was the dearest deer - a doe of love - a pink ribbon of glow - for all to know. Her hooves pranced ever so softly - on a deck high above - her pleasing stare said good morning - at the living room door. She understood - the love shared - between human and deer. Lucy will be deeply missed - but remember with love. She touched us all - if but briefly - broken nose and all. God needed you more - A glance through golden doors - The deer that brought love - Is forever more.

Oh, Jimmy. I broke down when you found Lucy. She has been such a wonderful part of your journey. She will be missed sorely. Grateful for the young ones she blessed you and Chris with. My best and God’s love to you and Chris. Prayers for you both.

😥😥😥. I read the title and thought OH NO Lord don’t let this tragedy be about Lucy. Ya have to feel like a punching bag Jimmy having the dearest things in your life not there to help you up and laughing that laugh we all love. With Gods hand of healing your beloved Chris will hopefully have a full recovery. But Lucy the worlds beloved deer is now running freely in Heaven as God sees how well you and Chris cared for her. This will definitely be the most difficult thing to tell Chris much much later when she can handle the news. But for now we can see it has broken your heart. She DID leave a legacy behind and almost defied the odds with her third birthday. This we will all remember but mostly we will always remember the love you and Chris shared with her and her amazing herd and how proudly you shared these Friday’s with the lovely Lucy. God saw your home and thought that day you found her on the road that it was a beautiful place to help her recover and teach the world how truly deer are to the world. That’s our Lucy but now she’s entertaining God in the place we all look forward to going to one day but now she’s looking down on you and expect you to keep caring for the herd and her babies. Sure hope Chris finally made it to the right facility and doctor so that she can start her therapy. Those things happen but glad Jack is on top of it. Spare you more grief. Hate to see you on the long drive alone after finding Lucy but sometimes it’s better in order to converse with the Lord. Just be safe Jimmy and know WE LOVE YOU TOO. The deer are looking for Chris. When I was in the hospital, my 11 month old Maine Coon slipped out the front door. I'm sure he was looking for me. Thank God he hid in the bushes and I scooped him up when I got home 9 hours later. I am so very sorry! Crying with you. Praying for all of you to come out of this valley soon. So very hard to understand!

I was raised on a farm and deer hunted....I live in Houston now and I haven't hunted since I left the farm in 83....I started watching UKposts looking at hunters hunting in Sam Houston National Forest. I stumbled onto Lucy and the herd when I would be looking at deer hunters filming their hunts....in fact, I want to video tape deer in the forest while they are grazing etc.....I always look forward to watching Chris feed the deer and your love for Lucy......its an affair only animal lovers will understand....I'm so sorry for your loss.....the whole world will mourn her.....she has touched my life and lots of lives in the world......she will be missed.....RIP Lucy I Love You!
