I think one issue with the P12s is the humming. While they are quieter in decibels, the humming their motor makes is way more noticeable than the F12s' whooshing at slightly higher decibel levels. For anyone who wants silence first, I do think the F12s are better considering they don't have a humming tone at those low speeds.
@mauroorefice4435
@mauroorefice4435 Рік тому
In another video I saw that the humming was specific to a certain speed. 1000RPM to be precise. If this is true a simple fan curve which avoid 1000 alltogether would easily fix the issue.

6:36 Am I wrong, or the P12 is noiser? (the motor itself, not the air)... I can only hear air flowing on the F12, while I hear a buzzing on the P12.

The F12s are more suited for a rear mount in the case where there is no filter. All it has to do it move more warm air out of the cabinet at lower RPM/noise. For intake through the filters, the P12s are more suitable.

Thanks, I just decided to change all my fans since my case is an absolute mishmash of different fans and stumbled upon this channel and the Arctic fans! By personal experience, what I have noticed is that while the P12 moves more air volume, it doesn't "push it" as far as the F12 unless you set it to 70% or higher, and that's why the F12 gets some advantage at lower RPM. Meaning that for small cases the P12 is always better, but for bigger cases, if you want to run run fans at low RPM you are better off with F12 fans, even if they are behind a mesh (a radiator is a different story).

@STSYT

Thanks! And no, your Mobo has absolutely no influence on that. With Mobo's & Fans, the only restriction you might encounter is how many Fans you can hook up to a single port. Some Headers will support 4 fans, others 5. But as long as you spread you fans over all of your Fan headers (to a normal extend), everything will be fine. And BTW. pick the P12's.

I have a question regarding static pressure: I have a Corsair 4000D Airflow, which has a fine mesh filter in front of the frontal intake fans, to filter out dust. Is static pressure only important if there is something behind the fans, or is it significant as well, when there is resistance from the direction where air is sucked in from? Specifically I am wondering if airflow fans or static pressure fans are best for that scenario. I am not even sure, if there is data on that :D
@STSYT
@STSYT 2 роки тому
For static pressure of your fans, it's not important if the filter is Infront or behind the fan. It's either harder to pull or push, but insignificant which one of them. For your scenario, the 4000D's filter is so fine, you !can! go with an Airflow focused fan without a doubt. Though (because you are in this video) I would still recommend going for a P12, as it's generally just the better option. Hope this helps :)

Yes, for both questions. The TC has a 3-pin header with a temperature control probe attached to itself. It will regulate itself depending how hot it is inside your case. The other "-no extra" one is just standard 3-pin voltage control.
