To think that this car company started off an as airplane manufacturer during WW1. Right off the bat: the style. Unmistakable, and arguably undeniable. The never ending clash among the top 3 Germans: BMW, Audi and Mercedes. So hard to decide which one is the best. Of course BMW delivers on their "Motorsport" heritage. They've been doing that for decades, which resulted in winning the prestigious 24-hour Le Mans. So bringing M performance to an EV? Easy😂 the price is jaw dropping, but so is the style, the elegance and driving experience. I absolutely love this car, but you still gotta ask the question? Is this luxury EV worth the price, or should customers invest in its rivals such as the Mercedes EQE and Audi E-Tron? Or should customers go outside the box, and spend the extra money on the Lucid Air? Great review. Thumbs up!!

I love the car so much. Thanks for a great review. I have purchased it, just waiting for it to arrive. With the rainy weather, it should suit my driving this winter. My runner up was the Lucid Air Touring. But, it just didn’t have all the bling that I love like the interaction bar and the augmented reality heads up display.

Well done for getting one for a week you’re obviously going places not having to fight on a press drive…..you’ll be able to afford one soon. It would be interesting to know if the 520i feels 50k less car. I think the 550e might be an interesting comparison too with the straight six at 70k odd

Looking good enjoyed the review and apart from the missing range and OTT price it would be a sure fire winner. Is the i5 M60 that much better than the equivalent i4? You only really seem to gain space that you'll need a few times a year.

No doubt a great car and the interior is lovely, I just can’t help but see new Skoda Octavia in the design. Maybe it’s just me…

I went to my local BMW dealer back in October, and found the i5, but it was in eDrive40 guise.

Great. Interested know what’s the crack with the 5 EV. A week with it. Be interested see end vid if you’d save cash and have the EV6. My guess is you’d go Kia. 100k large. Just too much for a car that isn’t an ‘M’

not advertised by EV sellers is that on this car you could lose up to 10% in charge through the system so if you pay 88kwh at your station the car will only receive 81 KWH. its like spilling 10% of fuel at a petrol station ;) enjoy

Would rather have the Camray, not a good investment, more than likely can only be serviced by the dealer, repair data at local garage, probably not, real data shows a lot of electric cars not selling, no gearstick, plastic interior, the only leather bit is the part of the seat you sit on and maybe the steering wheel, lease one would be the the best way, after that, no thanks. Does have some nice features, Alice band looks nice on you ❤

Compared to the bland ev cars that Merc is putting out this is a breath of fresh air (in terms of continuation of design that we are accustomed to), the only thing I can't understand is that black plastic in the corners as part of the rear diffuser, the interior is right on the money when it comes to 2023+, would like more buttons but what can you do ..., now that the bmw and Merc have thrown their cards on the table it is high time audi does so with the new a5/6 these cars could be a steal on the used market given the way market behaves at the moment, especially for you guys in the UK

Interesting they have no idea how to design cars anymore. The electric and digital car is something that will probably need a new generation of designers to polish. The screens, lights and user interface of the apps are all very bad, like a third party add-on.

Not sure the illuminated grille is iconic...it’s a new fad. Maybe confusing with iconic angel headlights?

Nobody needs all those silly light bars in the cabin. If they focussed on what people actually need and stopped with the massive profiteering that appears to be going on with electric cars, then they would have something in the reach of normal people. Who can afford this new?

I won’t be trading my F90 M5 Competition for this anytime soon. BMW have gone mad on their design. Ugly is an understatement. Will be holding on to what I have for as long as I can. Oh, and even worse, it’s electric.
