The Yamaguchi Barber Shop is a barbershop that was established in the 1930s. Yamaguchi Barber Shop has been operating near the present Hayama Imperial Villa since the 1950s. Once you pass through the curtain of "Ke", the retro interior with a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere and mellow background music will take you away from the hectic daily life and into the "Hayama Time" where slow time flows.
The interior of the store has been in use since the 1950s, with a wood-grain base, lots of Jazz records, and a pendulum clock that makes you feel the history of the store, which also relaxes you.
Yamaguchi Barber Shop is also open at night, with the third-generation owner, Masao Yamaguchi, running the store during the daytime, and the fourth-generation owner, Taro Yamaguchi, running the store at night.
The lights of the barbershop, which is located near the sea in Hayama at night, are reminiscent of the Bakudat Cafe.

I had a haircut like this once. I was in Santiago de Chile and I walked into a run down mall and there was a small barber shop with an old guy in it. He must have been 70. I sat down and we had a chat while he was stropping the razor. He sprayed my hair and started combing and passing the razor over my head. I really could barely tell he was cutting my hair. At the end of the 30 minutes I had one of the best haircuts of my life and I felt like I had stepped back 50 years in time. I gave him double the price.

*The straight razor shave was masterful. His client had multiple moles, pimples, etc and he never made a single nick. The discipline and skill required to do that is immense. Very impressive!*

Lol, You could see his head nod off a few times. He was falling asleep. That's how you know he's enjoying a peaceful haircut. I'll be the energy in your shop is really nice. I love all the different sounds. There's so much asmr in our world and only recently have we actually stopped to appreciate the sounds God made. Most of us just saunter around the world doing what ever going about our daily lives and there's music being played everywhere we look. Some is a little more annoying but if you know how to listen to it you can find harmony everywhere.
