I've spent half of April on heads from basic angles, my progress has been made...barely honestly, but that's fine, right now i just want to focus on shapes in perspective, one and two perspective that is...but it's honestly so intimidating and confusing for me right now, would you recommend that i focus on boxes and cylinders more, than on other shapes such as cones and pyramids? my goal is to draw characters because it'll be a useful skill for me in the future, i tried to come up with a plan to improve my skills, such as focusing on shapes in basic perspective right now, drawing boxes along with buildings and chairs to get a sense of it, i also thought about drawing cups or bowls from reference pictures, though honestly i don't know if my approach is going to be effective...my drawing routine consists of me waking up everyday to do my desired subject (which was basic heads by the way) I've drawn only four angles for 3 weeks which took longer than usual, i drew at home, at somewhere else, drew before going to sleep, wake up and repeat the process until I'm finished with it and move onto another subject. sorry if that's too much yapping from me, i just want to know if I'm going in the right way, the thing i hate the most is wasting my time on learning things that bore me out, or just fearing that I'm slowing myself down from learning how to draw characters by focusing on things that i don't feel like there's use in, so...now i wanna do shapes in basic perspective, chairs and buildings, then focus on drawing from reference, simple things like cups and bowls, i like your idea about copying from artist, I've recently found an artstyle that i feel like would be easy to copy since the art itself is a little exaggerated, yet very simple. also note, i don't know how to draw facial features yet...sorta, my drawn faces look hideous (which is okay, it would never get me down to quit)
