Filmmaker Sabina Vajraca documents her Bosnian Muslim family's return to their home of Banja Luka, Bosnia, to recover their stolen belongings many years after being forced to flee to the United States.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, they witness the devastation of the city, visit war crimes sites, and confront the family that has been living in their former apartment -- with all their furnishings -- for a decade.

A friend of mine volunteered to drive an articulated truck load of aid such as medical supplies, food & clothing etc etc to Bosnia, not by himself but in an organised convoy. He only did the one trip & vowed to never go again as his vehicle was shot at & had various rocks & stones thrown at it! This really unsettled & upset him as he had a kind heart & only wanted to help those suffering. War is something only those that have experienced it can understand, my friend was shocked by what people can do to other people, especially when some people are only there to help. A sad but very true story..

So sorry what you and your family went through Sabina. No one can NEVER understand this. Only us, people who went through this LIVING HELL. I am so happy that your dad was able to get the family pictures when you guys were forced to leave. My family did NOT get the pictures. Not one single picture. It was ALL destroyed by cetnik shelling. Also, I noticed that the wall outlets were left intact, as well as all the doors when the serb family left YOUR apartment. Our apartment was COMPLETELY stripped of all the doors. Even the wall outlets were RIPPED out of the walls. It was SHOCKING to see that and unable to process. I hope you found at least some peace and happiness in the States.

No worries. Thanks. Yeah, it could have been worse, YES for sure. Because, the apartment was left essentially intact. Some people's homes had NOTHING left inside them when they came back,NOTHING. In my case, windows. doors were removed. ALL of them. Power outlets were RIPPED out of the walls. Some of the wiring was removed as well. The toilet bowl was taken also. Some places were BURNED to the ground as well. THink about that.@@amyvivianjane

It's very interesting but a badly done documentary. Why were people displaced, etc. Could have elaborated much more on that. Thanks for the upload, though.

NO need to 'eleborate" because this is such a UNIQUE situation that NO amount of explaining could make you EVER understand what these people went through.

@zeuslord2869 /Gaylord. Rather, wait until you are an adult and support yourself without your parents' money before you comment on such complex matters. It takes a developed brain and, at minimum average, IQ to understand not everything is about "feelings" and what people "went through." Background, history, facts, and context matters.
