In this video I will explain basic electronics for beginners in 15 steps. Getting started with basic electronics is easier than you might think. This video will hopefully demystify the basics of electronics so that anyone with an interest in building circuits can hit the ground running.
This is a quick overview into practical electronics and it is not my goal to delve deeply into the science of electrical engineering. If you are interested in learning more about the science of basic electronics, this channel is a good place to start your search. By the end of this video, anyone with an interest to learn basic electronics should be able to read a schematic and build a circuit using standard electronic components.

I liked this brief introduction to electronic circuit design and components. I am a rank beginner. It went fast but that’s ok, I can re-watch or turn to more in-depth segments. As for the EE’s out there who are trying to catch every little oversimplification, I would say, refer to the title of the vid. I am deeply appreciative that someone would take the time to prepare and post this info, it takes time and talent. Thanks! Now I can build concepts on these basics on my way to building a guitar amplifier. And yes, I will be careful with the filter capacitors.

LDR Photo electric - is this a simple on off switch? If I shine a laser at it, it keeps the contacts closed allowing current to flow. If i remove the light source, it stops the current. Can I put this into a simple setup (example, the tamper circuit of an alarm system) and if the laser light is tripped, set off the alarm?

Wrong on fequency. 60 Hertz is crest to crest on the sine wave. So the power changes directions 60 times a second NOT 120.

1:15 what i understand that alternating current change's direction of electrons at some sequel point eg : at first charges flow -ev to +ev then +ev to -ev and vice versa happens through battery across the circuit right or not? please reply!

Check college outlines and find your own recources. Surpisingly lots of colleges and universities tell you what you need to learn in the outline often times and you can use free open source textbook websites to download what you can find within. Hope that helps

Electrical and electronics have a crossover point is the first thing to understand. Point of the power supply tends to be the cut off points. Also, electronics gets very deep when we get into rf analogue, digital etc. Suggest you find a place you are happy at. Much of the stuff one learns at college will never be used in real life, but the principles are important in other stuff even if it is not obvious to start with.

Help, advice needed, I am building a mini Vertical Axis Wind Turbine ( VAWT), I am good at construction and qualified at fabrication but know v little about electronics. I am currently stuck on what ( size) Diode I need for a Cordless Drill size motor to a small 2x 12v Battery pack. I saw a vid that said a ‘’blocking Diode’’ is what is used to stop electricity going back to the Gene from battery, but you say in this vid that Diodes block, not specifying a ‘’blocking’’ diode. So are all Diodes’’blocking’’ ones?, also could you or anyone pls tell me what size ( ‘’blocking’’ ?) Diode I would need for my above mini Wind Gene? I would really appreciate some advice with this, as it is to part power my flat.

I would advise you to wait a little longer before you attempt this project. As you progress through explanations of power generation and rectification characteristics it will become apparent why I'm making those suggestions. As an example ( a very relevant one). How much of a load is going to be required? Until you can answer all of the relevant questions ACCURATELY, folly is probably inevitable. ly

Without the led spec sheet I would assume it draws 20 mA. The battery is 9 volts, R=E/I ohms law so the resistor you use is 9 volts divided by .020 amps which is 450 ohms. Your 330 ohms would run it a little hot. This is basic design engineering.

Sorry but at 01:25 you mention that 60hz = 120hz, this is incorrect. If you begin measuring at an initial change in polarity vice half way thru a rise, you'll find 60Hz is 60Hz.

When I was like 10 or 12,I was just playing around with some components and managed to figure out how battery, switch, resistor, diode and led works. I don't know how?? 😭 And I also figured out that motor can generate electricity.

60 cycles per second is Hertz in frequency. One cycle goes from zero to positive then back negative to zero, that is only one half of a cycle. The author here is wrong about 60 hertz being 120 cycles.

It is at a level now that is very proprietary. About two decades ago micro miniaturization was accomplished by establishing a interior composite of a component on diagram media and that component and all of its neighbors were reduced down photographically to be extremely small. Much smaller than the component it was modeled after.

Resistors like capacitors and other components have names, Names that are functional but may seem confusing Things like Current Limiting Resistor Step Down Transformer Bulk Filter Capacitor Smoothing Capacitor NOW..... Even though, simply stated, we are only talking about a standard Capacitor here or a Standard Resistor or a standard Transformer THE NAME IS GIVEN AS A RESULT OF IT'S FUNCTION OR PURPOSE IN THE CIRCUIT OF THAT PART OF THE CIRCUIT in the example of a Smoothing Capacitor, it's function is to smooth out ripples in the voltage HENCE THE NAME in the case of the transistor, it takes a higher voltage (say 240V AC) it reduces it (STEPS DOWN) to say 16V AC on the secondary coil, hence the name now.. this resistor is called A CURRENT LIMITING RESISTOR because it is put in circuit to LIMIT THE CURRENT going to the LED now let's examine your question "What happens if you dont use a resister on an LED circuit?" SCIENTIFIC AND LITERAL ANSWER : Your current will not be limited going to the resistor OVER LAMEN ANSWER : Shit will blow up REALISTIC ANSWER BUT NOT TOO ENGINEERING LEVEL: depending on a few factors and considering ohm's law, Your LED might not blow up and you might get lucky, but if you do , Over time the lifespan of your LED will greatly reduce. it is however more likely that your LED will blow up or the filament will go open circuit because LED's are low power devices , You put too much current through them or voltage and you exceed their rating they're likely to fail also..... RESISTOR is spelled like this also..... the answer depends on WHICH RESISTOR VALUE YOU CHOOSE and which LED you chose so... does that help you understand The Take away is.... YOU ADD THE RESISTOR, YOU LIMIT THE CURRENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROTECTING THE LED YOU TAKE THE RESISTOR AWAY AND YOU LET THE CURRENT FLOW FREELY FROM THE SOURCE TO AN UPROTECTED RESISTOR TO SUFFER THE FULL FORCE OF THE VOLTAGE AND CURRENT Hope that helps

Capacitors won't work if they're wired backwards. But if the goal is to make them explode, this will work perfectly.

I watch this video at 1Hz and it is still to fast for me to understand . I get what your trying to learn us , but really concentrate on one type of component , like the 555 timer and explain how it is wired up and how to make it function in various ways. and what is it good for or not good for. I look foreward to seeing your improvemnts

50 Hz = 50 x sinus wave. So 50 Hz = 100 changes per second.

Research DECADES and ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE it's not MULTIPLY it's MULTIPLIER so if the resistor multiplier is 2 and your current value before that is 20, it doesn't mean 20x2 =40 it means 20 x 100 = 2,000 so... Multiplier 0 = 0 (or .. Retain whatever value you already are up to) 1 = x 10 2 = x 100 3 = x 1,000 4 = x 10,000 5 = x 100,000 6 = x 1,000,000 7 = x 10,000,000 8 = x 100,000,000 9 = x 1,000,000,000 so multiplier Value of 2 means x 100 10 to the power of 2 Basically add as many zero's as the number is 2 = 2 zero's 5 = 5 zero's
