Rachel did you know the brain can repair itself. Beckham might shock everyone, walk, talk; and do well in school. He may in a few more years catch up. Especially the intensive 3 week therapy you give him. You, and Hunter are blessed to financially give him the best chances possible. He amazes me how smart he is how he catches on, and understands.

That school!! It sounds incredible. I saw an adult gait trainer recently that sounds like the standing device that Beckham uses at school. So grownups have them too!

I cannot imagine your surprise & pride when you learned of Beckham wheeling around in the stander! Rachel I swear to you that when you filmed him pushing himself in the wheelchair, I thought to myself that he has done this before. He knew exactly what he was doing! Love watching Beckham make his strides. And of course Ms. Blackley and the toddler conversations are just precious.

I have been saying all along that Beckham is way smarter than anyone realizes. So glad that they are really working with him at school. Movement for EVERYONE is so important. I pray that the speech and feeding therapy also continues to help him as well. I can't to see him feed himself. I know he WILL. I can't wait to hear him say his first full complete sentence! Beckham is gonna surprise us with his healing..he is truly blessed..

I am sure you were so absolutely thrilled. I was a nanny for a sweet girl, Mackenzie, who was 3 and has CP when i was 17 in highschool while her mom was pregnant with a high risk pregnancy with her son. I was there 8am-10pm and sometimes staying with Mackenzie. Her shoulder got caught during delivery and instead of manipulating the shoulder they pushed her back in and the race was on to get to the OR to decrease brain damage from lack of oxygen. All of this to say-her prognosis was she probably wont walk, talk, be potty trianed, read, write etc, but she started speech therapy, PT/OT at 6 months old at Harvard Medical. Now, she just turned 21, walks, talks, enrolled in COLLEGE and so may things. Her mom taught me something i'll never forget: Don't place them in a box to be "normal", but let them experience the world and encourage every new milestone and they will surpass any "limits" that docs deam impossible-the will surprise everyone learning at their own pace. Keep going Beckham! and Mom and Dad-youre killing it!

He’s amazing. I was diagnosed with hydrocephalus 2 years ago in my 40s. Had it since birth but it was static till I fell of a horse age 13. I have had 2 brain surgeries this last year. First was an ETV and I had post op complications that were life threatening. Then that failed. So I then had a VP shunt fitted. My brain is damaged. So to see beckham doing so well brings me to tears xx♥️♥️

I wish you success and I pray for the little hero to get better. My son also has CP. I live in a country that does not provide any kind of cooperation or treatment for CP patients. I am really suffering from my son's condition.

I am so proud of him. I also have sleeping in myself and the doctors told my parents I would never walk or talk or set up or anything, but I learned how to walk by pulling myself up on the corner. Chair and that's when my mom knew that I was gonna be able to walk and I had to show the doctors that I could walk. And when the doctors saw that it could work, the doctors said they did not diagnose what I was doing. So we proved doctors from everything. The doctors are not always right, which is a good thing. Good job.😅

He wanted to eat that food by mouth. Seriously, that’s why he was reaching for it. IMO ❤❤❤ Maybe the G tube will be a thing of the past soon?

Have you thought about usins his wheelchair when you are out? And when you go out eat, could you think of giving Beckham his g-tube feed while others are eating? I know a lot of people who do it. They say if we go out to eat, they want to eat too. Whether it's with their mouth or a g-tube, we'll do it together❤

This occurs with CP. We utilize far more energy. If you've ever noticed Beckham looking a touch sweaty when the weather isn't very "hot," this could be the reason. Why don't they share important information with you guys? I would find this quite annoying.

Beckham is so so smart and his biggest asset is his DETERMINATION!!!!! It’s so visible in his face and body that he refuses to give up on ANYTHING !
