The Specialized Allez Sprint (41 : 12 in your test) is only 1sec slower than the Canyon Aeroad and only 4 sec slower than the top Cervelo S5. After the Allez Sprint seems we should just get the bike we like and train more.

Reverse KOM R5 vs S5 comment. At 360W you have speeds at 38-44kph shown. That is still pretty fast and so Aero benefits are still really big. For a pure uphill only time comparison perhaps run both at a more human like 250W... heck even at 300W and see the difference. This is where an A Cat racer may put out a 450W 4 minute effort and be faster on an aero bike up the hill but a D Cat racer may be under 200W with much slower speed and be better served by a lighter bike. If you run it I would be curious to know differences between bikes like this (both at 200W, both at 300W, both at 400W) Thanks for great videos.

Got to level 25 a couple of weeks ago and had been saving for the Cervelo S5, but I'm only 2,500m from the tron bike so think I'll keep my drops and the pink Madone for now!

Few issues Chris. For the Giant Propel you put the video for a TCR instead. For the Pinarelo Dogma f15 you put the price as 603,500 which is the price of the Dogma 65.1. The price of the f12 is 958,500.

Great information as usual. In regards to Comparing the R5 and the S5 and the S5 hitting the top of the climb a second faster: it could be that because you set the power higher you’ve taken unrealistic aero factors into play based on the speed in which the rider is climbing. In doing so you’ve given the advantage to the S5 and against the R5. I bet that if you compared just these two bikes at a more realistic power up this same climb you would see the R5 come out on top. A power in the 2-2.5w/kg range. I wish I could do this to see for sure now.

The Aero bikes are going faster, because doing 5 w/kg you are doing speeds where aero on zwift matters more. The alpe is too steep to go that fast, so that’s why it outperforms up there.

To be pedantic, you should change the video's title to "Level 21-30" since Trek Madone is unlockable at level 20, and would place at #2 in this list. Noted that it was already covered in the level 10-20 test and rightfully came in top spot.

Spez Allez went round in 41:12:29 so would have been 4th (5th if you include the Madone) and is available at level 14 so also a better option than most of the bikes 21-30

Making a mockery of your tests would be if Zwift decided to just mix everything up for all bikes right after your video went live. Wait for it...wait for it... (we know you by now, Zwift) :P

Here's one for you (maybe) did a zwift race today, signed up, did it, finished it, have a vague idea of approx position. Finished the ride, and in my zwift companion app I can see the ride, auto named according to the race, it shows the results of the event/category I entered, but does not list me. Over on Zwiftpower it doesn't list me as participating in the race at all (which doesn't surprise me as I assume they take their data from zwift, and seeing as I'm not in those results...) The seemingly strange thing is that it shoes me as having participated, but not in the results. Am fairly new to zwift, so sorry if this is a dumb and/or stupid question. (also noted a few of those super fast riders you mentioned the other day in another video that an update was supposed to have stopped. (That was a novel :) )

By having big W/kg, aero is as important as weight on climbs, as is the case outside. Make the w/kg lower and aero bennifits on climbs will reduce and lightweight should be more benifit.

The only ones worth getting between 20-30 are the S5, as you mention and ZwiftInsider agrees, and also the Grail (lv23) which you don't mention, but is worth getting if you like & race on the jungle circuit.

I know it would be a huge amount of work but can you take the top 2/3 from each group and compare as it seems some bike unlock earlier and would be better than some higher unlocks.

Nice videos, Chris. I don´t have a clue how Zwift works this out but I suspect some of the results are down to the wattage/speed you are putting out. Might be relevant to top racers but probably with higher bias to Aero rating than is true for us mortals.

The small difference in the relative short climb could be that one comes in faster at the bottom of the hill with the more Aero S5 vs. the R5. Or something like that? Perhaps worth to compare paces before the riders go into the climb.

I'm level 20 so what you can buy 20 to 30 especially the late stuff is no good really - ride a Venge and a tarmac Pro and interested to know how good or bad they are in the grand scheme of things.

The Giant bike at around the 4:15 mark looks like the TCR and not the Propel.

The Trek Madone which unlocks at level 20 should be at #2. It is faster than the Caynon Aeroad based on my testing.

The difference is due to aero benefit for S5. The higher the speed the more the aero advantage. If you drop the Watts the speed will decrease therefore reducing the aero benefit and the lighter bikes will start to get ahead.

The Zwift concept is still faster than all of them on flats and rolling hills right? Here's a thought, maybe having the wattage/speed so high on the climbs factors more into the aero rating of the bikes? Not sure if the algorithms in zwift are that smart though.

... CP and for anyone... why 'gravel' or CX bikes in zwift are meaningless and rubish? I love my real gravel bikes day dream to be able to ride again when the lockdown ends, but who the heavy MTB are faster ... better? than a gravel bike in some circuits I really don't get it!? is there gonna be some dedicated circuits for gravel or CX bikes when this bikes can ' excel'?
