Actually theres a place in texas (idk if its only texas) called velvet taco that has korean fried rice tacos that are actually pretty good. They have chicken tikka masala tacos that are cash too if they don’t over sauce it

I think Korea has self-serve instant ramen restaurants that are basically this. You buy a pack of instant ramen, get a disposable bowl, some hot water, and can pick out toppings.

papa murpheys (the place you mentioned in the second likely) still runs. It lets you basically get a build your own digiorno or other such frozen pizza options without being limited by what the factory is willing to put on it.

This is not always correct - Mongolian BBQ is amazing, and the whole idea of that is you assemble what ingredients you want and they cook it up. If you have a local place that does it, you should try it out.

These types of restaurants tend to polarize people. There are those who like those kinds of restaurants where they bring you out the meat etc raw and you cook it yourself and those who see it as stupid. Personally I enjoy a good barbecue place regardless of if they cook it themselves or if I cook it myself. It’s actually fun ordering a small mountain of meat and cooking it all with a few buddies or with family. Yeah you gotta cook it yourself but that’s the entire point of going there besides the meat tasting great. It’s fun cooking meats with your friends or family. And it’s actually not a bad option for people who can’t own a barbecue for whatever reason and doesn’t want to/can’t rent a barbecue for a afternoon etc. well it’s a lot more simple to just get in the clown car and hit up a Korean barbecue anyways haha 😂 Now it’s different when you bring your own food. That’s just going too far in the terms of the DIY factor. It makes sense for an outside rental facility where they provide grills and tables to eat on but I don’t see why anyone would go to a building to pay for a seat to cook the stuff they brought themselves 😂 The pizza one doesn’t sound so bad either. Get your one pizza for what 10-15? Dollars and bring it home. Looks like a fun family activity that isn’t that complicated
