Keeping eachothers places if we nipped off to get a drink etc. 1745 Friday till 06.00 Saturday. At the bermondsey wharfs one bloke came out his home with plastic cups and a bottle of brandy to pass round. Well worth the wait.

One was the Vigil of the Princes, where Queen Elizabeth's four children stood round the coffin; the second was even more moving, the Vigil of the Grandchildren, when all eight grandchildren stood round the coffin.
