I was born in 1958 and my dad worked for Delta so we flew alot. My mother told me one time while standing to get off the plane in New Orleans which is where we lived, she noticed a very tall man with the bluest eyes she had ever seen standing behind us staring down at me. She realized it was Billy Graham and said hello to him. He put his hand on my head and said a prayer over me right there on the plane standing in the aisle waiting to get off. I would love to know what he prayed but that was between him and God, but I sure do appreciate doing it.

So here’s a story I got from another fellow UKposts commenter, I’m not going to disclose their name, but I thought it might give a different perspective: “When I was a young boy, Billy Graham had a religious advice column. He gave a woman a piece of advice that I will Never forgive him for. It was from a woman whose husband regularly beat her. He had been beating her for decades, and she was at the end of her rope. She said that she didn't know how she could go on living, that she had lost hope of her husband being less violent towards her, and that she had prayed for years without any help from God. She asked Billy Graham what she should do. Did Billy Graham tell her to go to the police? Did he suggest she go to a woman's shelter? No. He told her that she should endure, and continue to pray for her husband, as a supportive Christian wife should. That was his advice to this poor Christian who made the mistake of writing to him. I always wished that I could have somehow written to her and told her not to listen to this idiot's advice, and to escape immediately. I'm sure she continued to make a fine punching bag for her husband, until she died of abuse or until he died, forever unpunished. Without God ever intervening to help her. Or Billy Graham convincing her to escape her lifelong hell. That is how Billy Graham deserves to be remembered. With utter contempt at his inhuman hypocrisy.”

Carson was a major financial supporter over the years of the James Randi Educational Foundation and regularly featured skeptic James Randi, who exposed several televangelists on the show. Randi treasures a letter from Carson in which he quoted the philosopher Francis Bacon's admonition that "a credulous man is a deceiver." Quiet and reclusive in his private life, he preferred to avoid public events and interviews but occasionally engaged in them. "In my living room I would argue for liberalization of abortion laws, divorce laws, and there are times when I would like to express a view on the air. I would love to have taken on Billy Graham. Billy Graham on the most watched late night show in America in 1973. You would never see such a balanced, calm interview now. The video of the message brought in Korea is deeply moving. Anyone with half a heart will choke back tears. So many people hungry to hear a clear, unfiltered, undiluted message of love. Nobody has time for that in America anymore. The fact that Johnny gives Billy a moment to calmly explain the gospel, heaven and even hell without any serious interruption right there on the show tells all. Factually, 99% of church-goers are more or less just like Billy Graham - relatively calm, patient and seeking to bring a message of hope. But look as we may, we will not find such a fairly-broadcasted presentation of the Judeo-Christian worldview in our day, where Christians are depicted as axe-murderers. Times have truly changed. Amen. He never really “preached”, but rather explained it clearly. One thing I’ll always remember is his explanation of hell, in that it is separation from God, and ultimately it’s your decision as to whether you want to accept the Lord as your Savior. It’s your choice.

This is an awesome clip. I highly doubt any late show hosts would have a pastor similar to Billy Graham on their show...

There are no pastors similar to Graham!! Never has been, never will be!!

I wonder what happened or why that is? I don't disagree with you. Just curious your opinion
@latkagravas9863 роки тому
@@fl3082 Yep. And I doubt Jesus RETURN will give that platform to Ferguson, Kimmel or that other bonehead.

We don't see levels of respect like this in today's world

Wow! The respect/silence from all in attendance is stunning and makes me ache for a time when I was young. Society WAS better in the olden days.
