As someone who spent 14 years in wars, you never think about the people you lost till the war ends because you are always in survival mode, then it will eat you up for the rest of yr life, and one question we all ask ourselves is why did i survive...Now I know never to fight for politicians let them go and fight at the front lines! RIP my brothers in arms.

Its crazy how good the young drone operators English is better then some here in US that grew up here.

The family losing their only son at 34:18 absolutely kills me.... What a sweet, sweet couple. I hope they can find some meaning in the midst of all this. They should be very proud of their brave son, and his comrades.

This should have tens or hundreds of millions of views. The fact that the general population doesnt care enough about what is going on in the world scares me.

I have little words, but the ache in my chest & the water in my eyes. I have admiration for any called to defend their land & hope for their perseverance. My God's Spirit, be kind to those left behind.

Yurii and Helena have a good son and it touches my heart to hear his love and wisdom. A dark situation but if there was one moment in this documentary that made me feel hopeful, it was that boy's words to his mother.

37:48 "the other day, my daughter told my wife, she doesnt want to be an orphan." He even attempted a little smile after that sentence. Absolutely brutal.... 😢

This was an unbelievably great documentary! It should be on all national television! So sad to get to know these guys, and their lives and wives and kids, and see how a 19 year-old has so much courage.

I was in war between Iran and Iraq and I fought more than 2 and half year, as you know that war was from 1981 till 1988 but still I have problems with remembering how my friends died there! Those memories everytime comeback and make me really sad and I still suffering from depression! I believe for you going to be same, and you never going to forget it! Anyway God bless you all who defending their own country! Respect!❤

Thank you for this soft and respectful tribute to Ukraine's heroes! I'm Ukrainian and I appreciated the film, we also need such documents of our history. Apparently I studied together with Mykhailo Aleksieienko, though we didn't know each other. But a friend of mine once told me about this cool political science student and activist she knew from our studies in Kharkiv, and then she shared that he was killed on the frontline. So I recognized Mykhailo in your movie. Unfortunately Ukraine's best men - young, educated, English speaking, brave and dedicated to their country' future, get killed by Russia's prisoners and mercenaries.

What a powerfull emotional documentary. That mother talking about sending those pictures of food to comfort her son because she knew how important it was and worried so much for her sons safety. I couldnt help but tear up.

I got 2 long tours in Iraq as a Combat Medic. My heart hurts for the Soldiers of both sides, the Widows and Ophans and parents. Ive seen the absolute futility in war. The gross mismanaged of a Nation's youth. I pray fervently for peace. My heart hurts.

This video teleported me into the chaos of war on the front lines, I felt for each and everyone of these young brave men and cried too which I'm not ashamed to admit. My heart goes out to every man woman and child affected by this war and i pray for a successful outcome with the Russians pushed out of Ukraine and peace to return. This is shameful. No one should encourage anyone else to throw away their life. And this war and the violent conflict never were reasonable or justified. Nor was the ethnic hatred which was promoted and encouraged, nor was the sale of the Ukrainian lands to WEF corporations. The lives of ordinary and even powerless people are more valuable and more important than the ambitions of malign and greedy sociopaths. Yes, war is indeed tragic, for all those involved, and it's also shameful, because it was planned and pursued rather than avoided. If I may be so bold, I'd like to suggest that the poor, ordinary people, are poor soldiers. Because they our not our best and brightest, most shrewd, cunning, intelligent and successful. And because although they may be easily duped into participating in the conflict, they genuinely lack motivation, due to their inability to properly appreciate the value of being able to establish one's dominion over the people within large territorial areas. And so, because of this, I suggest that only our "elite" should ever be involved in any of the actual physical conflict, and certainly only those whose net assets can be estimated at over $ 10 million USD, and even then, only if they are not personally opposed to the conflict. As a Dane, I am proud to have had the opportunity to support Ukraine's army, and most other EU countries can also be proud of all the contributions we have made so far. Denmark gave their artillery system to Ukraine before we had bought new artillery systems! 🤠

The average age of a Ukraine soldier is currently 43 years old. This is really something and speaks volumes about the Ukrainian youth who either don't share their elders' sense of patriotism or they don't rate their chances of survival. Most have skipped the country or using other means to avoid being drafted. Can't say I blame them at this point.
