This is inaccurate. Bo practiced with the team. What he didn't do was any weight lifting or strength training. He was naturally that strong and fast, which is literally mind blowing.

Indeed. I was never a world class athlete, but I was an excellent fighter that cross trained with the football players and sprinters at the University of South Carolina, where I attended. Anyway, when I was at my athletic peak in 2003, at age 28, I weighed 228lbs with a 32 inch waist (6'2"). When I approached my strength (225lbs for 32 reps on the incline bench) and speed (sub 11.0 sec 100 meter sprint) thresholds, it felt like my muscles were too strong for my skeletal frame. When I'd throw a left hook, it felt as if my rotator cuff was being shredded, and when I threw a Thai round kick once, it felt as if my pelvis was ripping away from my hip flexors. It's no coincidence that my last competitive year was in 2004, at age 29. To think I had to train with elite athletes to get into the shape I acquired when, by all accounts, Bo Jackson didn't train very often, at all.

David Laush varies from person to person; i.e., heavily reliant on genetics. The will of the individual to reach one's full potential is very important, as well.

No matter how you feel personally (and believe me, I think he's the greatest athlete ever), he just didn't play either sport very long. Last season Zeke Elliott led the NFL in rushing. He ran the ball over 300 times in 16 games. Bo also played in a 16 game season. The most rushes Bo ever had was 175 and he never topped 1,000 yds. The most MLB games he played in was 135. He played 6 MLB seasons and 4 NFL. He topped 100 RBI's once. Had he played only football, he'd probably have three 1,000 yd seasons. But, he'll tell you himself, he wished he would have never played in the NFL....Obviously.

zane brown The idea that no one would have come close to him is kind of absurd. Just look at his stats. He didn't score many touchdowns, he didn't run for very many yards per game. He was great but not that great. The only stat working in his favor in yards per carry. To say he would've bee better than Walter Payton and Barry Sanders is a long stretch considering their consistency and dominance. Could he have maybe been one of the best? Of course. Will we ever know for sure? Nope.

Wilt was a phenom, for sure, as Bo, natural strength and ability. MJ was no where near the physical specimen of either but his mental prowess made him great, and he made his teamates better, which Wilt did to maybe a lesser degree, and wouldn't say Bo had that. I'm speaking of pure athleticism and ability, not greatness of a sport.

His football stats are without question, 6.6 ypc in college, 5.4 NFL. He didnt have the accomplishment of Wilt, but that's not the discussion. Clearly Bo's ability matches up, some better, some less, across the board. Again, I'm speaking of ability, not career statistics, obviously injury prevented him from being the greatest player.
