I feel more supported and capable in less than 25 minutes with Bob Ross than I have in 24 years with my family.

Why is it so reassuring when Bob Ross says "it doesn't matter"

Theres that point in every bob ross video where he adds a brush stroke and you think "Omg Bob you've ruined it" But always trust in Bob Ross. It always comes together in the end lol

Today’s world needs this man back. When I was about 9 or 10 (‘79-‘80), I would hangout with the neighbor kid. His mom liked to paint. Sometimes I would pause our juvenile activities and stop to watch Mr. Ross paint. He mesmerized me with his speed, and creativity and kind and gentle demeanor. Quickly making a few obscure lines into an amazing landscape in no time. Absolutely amazing. Thank you, Mr. Ross.

I get sad when I hear him say "send me a picture", because I know I can't. I wish he were still around

Dabs paints with a paper towel and I wonder where this is going. Draws a few lines with a foam brush and suddenly a forest appears. Love this man!

I had a Great Aunt like Bob Ross, Aunt Vera... She was an art teacher her whole life and was so amazing with children. I could never fail around her. When I fell down (as small children quite often do) she told me 'It is ok, don't cry. Come here and I will pick you up' By the time I have gotten to her she was all smiles and said 'See that? You did it all by yourself, you picked yourself up:)' and, 'You can do anything you want' and gave me a big hug. God bless you Aunt Vera and Bob Ross, I am glad of you existing and shinning your bright light on this world ☀️

The dude takes a piece of black canvas, a random kitchen tray with splotches of some black and white paint, a friggin paper towel and what's essentially a kitchen sponge, and then whips up a masterpiece in 10 minutes. F#$@ing LEGEND!!! Just goes to show you *don't* need thousands of dollars worth of art supplies to create something beautiful. I never painted anything in my life, nor had any inclination to, but watching his shows makes me believe I could if I just tried! Bob Ross is and always will be one of my greatest inspirations. I have more respect and adoration for this man than any person living or dead, and I'm not even a painter.

I love how he invites people to try painting, as Carl Sagan said "when you fall in love, you wanna tell the whole world about it". You can tell when people love what they do and Bob Ross absolutely did. Rest in peace both of my dearest teachers. Their legacy will be cherish ♡

Whenever I hear that "You can do whatever you want, this is your world", I really never cared, just bob ross being bob ross. But when I started painting after someone told us the rules of art, like the golden ratio, the 'never use primary colors', what colors matches with what, and the must of paintbrushes... I never really felt like it's my world. I'm painting under someone's rules and I disliked painting because I thought it would never be enough because I always fail with the rules. Then, I watched one ' ONE ' Bob Ross painting and it was my first time being contented with my painting. The ratio felt right, I mixed colors based on what I see in my mind and thus never used a raw primary color and so on. It just felt right. It's my painting. I think the reason why Bob Ross kept telling us this phrase is because screw the rules, as a human, you will always consider the natural flow of art, which is based from nature. You can't follow the golden ratio, the golden ratio follows you, because it's your world.

That painting started in night and ended in day. what a journey

I love having Bob Ross in the background while doing pretty much anything and just occasionally checking in to see how he's doing. It reminds me of doing shores while he played on our little box TV that only PBS came in on. Always loved him.

I was honestly super impressed with the grayscale before Bob even grabbed a color just crazy how good he was and how simple he made it for everyone watching. I hope he knows he is sorely missed.

My father and him were artist friends. I went to visit him when I was a little girl. He said just call me Pumpkin head because of his hair! I liked him he was a very nice man. I was only 8 years old then in 1964.

I want to live in his hair.

It makes me cry happy tears on how much Bob has touched people from all walks of life, young, old and in between. In the beginning I only knew Bob Ross from the endless memes on the internet. So recently I figured I'd watch a video and see what the fuss was all about. Oh man, I'm glad I did... This man is frickin' wonderful. Right now I'm suffering from smaller but nevertheless frustrating chemical burns on my neck and arms, so I can't sleep. So I'm watching Bob Ross-videos as a soothing therapy. I'm content!

This man literally makes me tear up with how positive he is about life and painting! I used to paint and draw and always wanted to go to art school but couldn't afford it, life happened and now I hardly ever do any art, haven't painted in years but he honestly makes me feel like I could pick up a brush and it will all be ok.

This is truly an amazing, multilayered technique! One could spend months or longer playing w the black and white values of the first 15 minutes of this video. Let alone the application of liquid clear and addition of whatever color values you want to glaze. Awesome technique and opens the imagination. Thanks, Bob.

I love Bobs happy accidents, I have those all the time, I was going to gesso over a few, but I thought of what Bob always said, “it was a happy accident” and I saved some paintings after that, we need more people in the world like this smart, caring, soft spoken man...we miss u Mr Ross!

I just watched the bob ross documentary on netflix.. how these producers ripped him and his family off..i am a big fan of Bob Ross.. my heart and wishes goes out to Steve his son.. spread the word.. the kowalskis are using his name which they dont deserve.. shame on them..!!
