This episode had some other absolutely fantastic comedic moments, but nothing beats random nausicaa.

You can’t just insert in Nausicaä OST for no reason and expect us to go by our daily lives.

I love the fact that in this anime Bocchi can suddenly explode due to stress and shyness, and die, and then, the girls will give her a very sad funeral, and in the next scene they'll pretend that it didn't really happen and will go on like if nothing had happened. Its something magical.

Her reaction to having friends over was the cutest thing I've seen in a long time, the sheer disappointment when one of the girls said we're not here to party 😂

They literally made this chapter much better and as expected Bocchi is cute in casual, now can't wait for her maid costume.

I was pretty certain, that nothing, NOTHING could ever top Bocchi going cyberpsycho in episode 4, but this anime just keeps on giving. Getting Thanossnapped out of existence, while Nausicaä music plays - someone, who has never seen this, would really call me a madman, if I told them about it...

What's hilarious is this isn't even like a visual gag to convey what it feels like to Hitori. This is just something that happens in this world. People just spontaneously grow cat ears, or combust, or glitch out.

They don't show the whole clip but this turns into a very effective example of Japanese horror like a second later. Albeit very, very cute Japanese horror, but still.

The passion and love that the makers put in this anime oozes from every single frame. You can get a sakugafest by overworking the animators but you will never achieve this without being genuinely passionate ❤❤

I love how this is not only a reference to Nausicaa Valley of the Wind but goes as far as to recreate the music from the scene it's referencing.

By this point, her bandmates are so used to her Bocchiisms that they can be fully drawn into her bizarre reality. Inhaling that ash gives them a fraction of her stress, anxiety, and depression, and they become non functional. Previously, they'd simply be confused.

Knowing this anime, I thought this scene was going to lead to Bocchi's hair growing endlessly to envelope the earth or something. What we got was tame in comparison. "Lil' Bocchi" as I'll now call her is also cute. Feels like something out of Super Meat Boy.

So... They aren't even fazed by the fact, that their friend self-combusted?!

This was so calm yet so funny

I thought she realized how great that moment was with her friends, how elated they were, that's rare you know???!!! And she totally missed this by freaking out, those experiences make up our short lives and it's a tragedy that miss them out of panic.

Its the way bocchi furrows her eyebrows when they say cute for me. Its a little detail but its just so well done.
